The gap between my front fascia and header panel is uneven. It is wider on the passenger side then it is on the driver side. I'm sure my dealer will tell me "its within spec" or "what gap?" I haven't crawled underneath yet to see how to adjust this, but assume it would be the main bolts that hold the fascia reinforcement to the frame. Anyone else have this issue or know if my assumption on the bolts are correct, or a better way to even this gap?

When I pulled off my lower valance for painting, I did not study the area, but I believe that I saw 2 large nuts or bolts on each side above the honeycomb filler area that might be the bumper mounting hardware. Just a guess. You might try looking at an exploded parts view on a Ford parts website for further details

There are three bolts on each side to secure the bumper. When I had the bumper off to install a base plate to tow behind my motorhome it did the same on reinstalling. I had to loosen the bolts and lift the passenger side of the bumper and tighten the bolts.

Hi Paul,

When I put on my Roadmaster Base Plates, which were the first production parts after my phone calls with Glenda at Roadmaster, I found that if I had an angle attachment with a 3/8 to ½" chuck, I did not have to remove the bumper at all...Strictly bolt on. but know what you mean for loosening and retighten these nuts. Hopefully every thing worked for you. Hope you did not foolishly try to use grade 8 hardware in place of the provided hardware, which is well designed even if not OEM in nature.

Best,

I had no reason to doubt the Road Master installation instructions and I trust that a 1/2" bolt they provided and the OEM bolt from below is sufficient to attach the receiver to the frame. It was an easy install and removing the grill and bumper gave room to run wiring and tubing for the Air Force One brake system. After installing a base plate on my previous 2017 Malibu the Ranger was a breeze!

Did you ever correct this? Mine is the opposite..bigger gap on the driver's side, but obviously it will be the same procedure to correct. Thanks

I corrected my uneven bumper gap this evening. My truck is 1.5 years old. The uneven bumper has always bothered me. See this thread for the instructions to get to the 6x bolts that hold the bumper:

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/2019-ford-ranger-bumper-removal.3489/

I corrected it about 50-70% better, not perfect. To get it better than that, I would have to loosen the bolts on the other side more than I want. I think that would cause that side to droop and then it would be a PITA to get it all even again.

Note that the bolts holding the bottom of the plastic fascia are 10mm, not 11mm as stated in the PDF on the above thread. That plastic fascia removal was the most time consuming. I was worried about breaking it. I had to reinstall most of the metal clips on the fascia side in order to re-install it.

Here is the after picture.

F*ck! Now, I'm gonna have to look at mine in the morning and see if it's uneven. If it is, it's gonna drive me nuts! D4mn it!
