Once I saw the rubber stoppers after the spray in liner was put in I knew there must be accessories for those holes. Saw that they were meant for a cargo rail but seemed pricey and hard to find.

Found these hooks on amazon for colorados. Had to grind them down a bit to fit the holes. You could also grind out the holes some to make them fit.

These are for specific GM trucks and I’m sure there are good reasons for that.

Sure, they look good and they kinda-sorta fit that access hole in the bed wall, but I wouldn’t trust them to hold or hang anything heavy and I certainly wouldn’t use them as an anchor for a ratchet strap.

The designated tie-down locations in our Ford Rangers are reinforced and load rated for something like 600 or 700 lbs. I suspect the places these are meant to be installed on GM trucks are likely reinforced as well.

Another member did something similar and messed up the bed side wall of their Ranger. They even posted a warning to others.

I hope those holes are reinforced by Ford somehow.

It looks like that user created their own bolts holes near the pre fab pockets that I used. They also just put small washers on the back of bolts.

I think these pockets were intended for the accesory cargo management rails which have tie down cleats on them so I think these pockets can handle a rachet strap. Good heads up though, will limit their use case.

As far as I know, the mysterious “Cargo Management System“ never made it to market for the NA Ranger. There were part numbers and installation guides but the unit could never be ordered and was eventually discontinued.

Looking at the installation guide, that system mounted on the ends of the cargo rails, in the corners where the bed walls meet the headboard and backside of the taillight.

It also required some drilling - yikes! There is no mention of those holes in the installation guide.

They could be the by-product of manufacturing - a place where robots hold or carry things or where they are aligned by a jig for welding, etc.

I’m not trying to change your mind, just making sure folks have enough information to make informed decisions should they want to do the same.

Nice info and good call. I wouldnt trust them with a tonne of weight since its just bed wall and not reinforced there
