I just received the two "missing" ? middle tie downs and fasteners. The Line-X folks I took the truck to already stripped one of the holes for the OEM bed extender when they reinstalled everything in the bed, so I'd like to avoid another situation like that if possible. The OEM bed extender torque spec is 80 in/lbs, but my guess is the tie downs are different since they don't use the same fasteners. Does anyone know?

Also (since I'm not a machinist), assuming the bolt for the bed extender works its way loose one day down the road, would a helical insert be an appropriate fix for something like this? Thankfully it doesn't feel like it wants to go anywhere currently, but I don't want to make matters worse when and if it does. I'm also not exactly inclined to take it back to a spray-in bed liner shop to get it fixed.

Generic torque specs for M8s appear to be in the neighborhood of 30 ft-lbs. Get it really tight with your hand ratchet. Use a dab of loctite if you’re concerned about it. You could also loctite the extender screws if you want to, but there’s not much stress on that connection. I wouldn’t worry about them much.
