Sorry to hear this Tracy. The last couple years have been tough on many and its sad to say but many just feel overwhelmed and getting help is the last thing on their mind. Prayers to you and your family.
Thank you, Ed.

My heart goes out to you. Like others have shared, it’s hard to talk to others about what pains you’re going through, but from experience, it’s a huge relief once you do. Everyone needs help sometimes, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. And if the first person you talk to doesn’t respond well and give you what you need, try again with someone else. Family or friend or if those are unavailable, seek out professional help like a therapist/counselor/pastor. They really are there to help and want to hear you out. I’ve gotten help that way as well as several friends and family of mine too. No shame in being unable to handle everything on your own. No one can do this life alone.
Thank you, Connor.

It's such a difficult topic and has so much stigma attached to it.

My father took his life in 1985 - absolutely no closure for me and I often wonder if he had some undisclosed medical issue. I'll never know and I focus on the good he did and how he taught me that anything mechanical could be fixed.

I still use the automotive tools he left me and I hope he knows how thankful I am for all the life lessons he taught me.
I’m sorry, David. Glad you have happy memories with him.

Tracy,
I am so sorry to hear about this unexpected incident. I can feel the pain and grief that you, your husband and family are going through.

I have experienced 5 family deaths and two were especially hard...one a brutal murder and the other last April, my nephew Josh, age 34 in a tragic drowning accident. I shared this with my Pastor and church group who gave the needed support to help me cope with the loss and to begin the journey toward the healing process.

And then in August, a close friend's teen age daughter Heather, age 18 committed suicide of all things by downing herself. You're never ready for the death of someone close and the timing is never right. I have learned the importance of treating family and friends right and going the extra mile for them today because tomorrow they might be gone. Will be praying for you and family to find relief and restoration... ?
So sorry, Paul. You are absolutely right. We never know what someone is going through.

Love and kindness.

Sorry to hear you had to experience this, brings the plight of so many closer to home, and you will always ask yourself if there was something more you could have done, and why you didn't see his pain. In both my careers I have lost more than a few friends to suicide, and not having ever experienced the mental or emotional situations bringing one to this decision myself, that didn't keep me from driving 200 miles to sit with a friend and just talk when he reached out. You have to know someone needs help before you can help them.
So true, Jesse.

Sorry to hear , when I lived in Denver I did the out of darkness walks for suicide prevention in support of our daughter whose best childhood friend hung herself (father found her) - this gal was bright, beautiful and seemingly had everything to look forward to in life. Very difficult to understand and took yrs for our daughter to be whole again.
Very sad. Hard to hear anytime, but especially hard when it is a child or teenager.

Agree with that - and several states including CO have medical aid in dying provisions, I mention my daughter who is a social worker and works in a facility that cares for huntington (horrible incurable neurological) disease, she's seen several patients have their end of life wish granted, one a 32 yr old female MD, attractive talented lady whose only wish was for her suffering to end.

Sad to hear how many vets are taking their own lives in the US.
This man was a vet. Had a Purple Heart.
