This is worth checking out. Sort of a tutorial and info video about the carbon buildup with direct injection and how to take care of it. Cleaning, catch cans, etc…

Interesting. But I get dizzy just following the entire air intake/turbo system on my Ranger. Anything that was assembled can be disassembled. But I think this job will take a lot longer than 5-6 hrs.

I've learned about catch cans on this forum. A bit pricey and I reckon you better pack a lunch when installing. But I'm going to pull the trigger and get one. I'm just at 30K miles so the damage done is hopefully minimal. The time to install doesn't sound too bad compared to this process.

Agreed, I’m planning on installing one too. Have used them on turbo’d cars and it’s worth keeping all that junk out of the intercooler and plumbing too.
