93 Octane

Can't get 93 Octane in Arizona, we have to get by with the diluted preium gas from California - 91 Octane. Went to Texas a few years back. They had real premium 93 Octane gasoline. The difference in power was quite noticeable.

Keep in mind that running the fuel cleaner through most likely helped clean a bit to regain lost power. This is certainly true when fuel cleaner hasn't been used in a long time.

I run a bottle of Chevron Techron at every oil change. 5000 miles.
Seat-of-the-pants dyno tells me it runs best on E-free 90 octane but I only used it a couple of times when I was down with knee replacements and it was going to sit in the garage for a month or more.
The stuff is a little costly, it's about $1 more a gallon than 89.

Mine gets 93 all the time. 90%+ of the fill ups have been Shell. Rest were from one of the other majors if Shell wasn’t available.

There have been 3 or maybe 4 times when I bought mid grade because the particular station was absolutely raping people with the 93 up charge. Usually happens when a station doesn’t have any competition nearby. And on those few occasions I was on a road trip, needed gas and figured I’d be burning through it quickly. So sucked it up and bought 89 versus wasting time trying to find another station.

Only started using the Fuelly app after I’d had about 7-8K miles on the truck. But here are the stats as of the last fill up.
