I have a 2021 XLT (302A tech), with 2x light pods on either side of the adaptive cruise control radar. I'm concerned about damage due to reduced cooling system effectiveness, if I add an additional 2x pods.
If I add 2x additional pods, the bottom grill section would be almost completely blocked: here's an example image of 4 light pods (product link here).
Can 4x light pods causing overheating damage due to the cooling system not working well, because the intercooler is blocked?
It looks like the intercooler (is that what it is?) is exposed only on the bottom portion of the grill, and that 4x pods + the ACC radar would mostly block air flow. With only 2x pods, it's seems clear that there's enough flow.
Many people put 4x, and they sell kits for 4x...but they're trying to make money
It's not clear how safe this is for the engine; any thoughts appreciated.
