One problem with that. Since the crash bars are gone you are put at risk if you get into a crash up front(same goes for your passenger). Even if its the aftermarket crash bars you nees to put something in there.

Truck looks great. I keep seeing posts about the lack of safety to cut out beams and lifted vehicles. However, I have seen where a lifted vehicle saved my families lives. Also, car seats save kids, but when I was a child I was put on the ground upfront. Before my time older vehicles seatbelts were just on the lap, etc., etc. Frenchy, get a document from the DOT about the beams and maybe more people will head your advice.

Better yet understand why certain parts are there. Even @P. A. Schilke can explain this one

I understand why they were put there and mine will be cut out soon. Also, the 5 factory lifted ford rangers still on the lot have theirs cut out. No helmet law in Arizona, please get on their forums and sound the alarm.

Hi Kevin,

Yeah...right and I have seen folks that smoked tobacco live to 100 plus... Good luck with your foolish cutting out the crash bars... they were necessary to pass the Federal Gov. mandatory requirements for side/offset frontal requirements.

That said, the aftermarket products have not been crash tested and may not produce the desired crash performances either... Ya pay ya money and ya take your chances. Not chances I will endorse based on a ton of crash data I had to do to prove that some design changes that were proposed would not perform well in a crash...

Phil

Again, no helmet law in AZ, sound the alarm. Ford dealerships cutting them out. My 63 GMC didn't have them nor a proper seat belt. I already understand the reason behind them. As everyone knows the government is horrible with things. They also run the USPS and the DMV, Student Loan Programs. All of those are absolutely horrible, I'll take my chances as the government only has their best interes in mind.

285/75R18. Intrusion bars gone. Trimmed a corner of where they came from. Trimmed the wheel well liners in front. About 5 inch lift in front with Icon 2.5 coil overs and a small spacer on both the top and bottom. Three inch lift in back with Icon leafs, Icon 2.5 piggyback shocks, and a one inch block. Ride is super smooth. Smoother than the Fox 2.0’s with factory leafs.

I agree woth Phil on this. You take a huge risk with the crash bar delete. Yes I hope nothing bad happens but if it does happen you will pay the price(and it wont just be a totaled truck).

Yes it is cool that you can fit 35 inch tires but if you loose the safety factor then you have to ask if its worth it. Even with my truck i kept the crash bars intact and did not have any issues with it.

Put simple I would still highly suggest at least getring the aftermarket crash bars in there. Will.it be as good as the factory? Cant say but it should be better than nothing.

Truck looks great and looks like it is purpose built with intentional decisions. Nice job! Glad you are modifying for your needs to enjoy your purchase.

Not sure I'll go all the way up to 35's, but am hoping to get on 34's with a bit less lift. Did you swap the UCA's as part of your kit up front?
