I took a little road trip the other day--200 miles round trip. On my way back home, my elbow got sore from resting it on the center console, which seems to have very thin and low density foam. So, I ordered a fitted neoprene cover to give it better padding and hopefully, more comfort. I'll post pics and a link for it after I get it.

I have a COLD-1 32oz cup which fits perfectly in the front drink holder. It is the exact height with a little pad to form a flat bridge from the console to the shifter. I like the way it gives even support to my entire forearm, allows for easy shifting, and keeps a cold drink handy at all times.
On the other note... I think that the armrest is more than adequately padded.

Link please? I hate how thin the padding is, especially the extension on the driver's side where my elbow normally sits...stupid design:angry:

At some point I'm going to add a heating pad for a heated armrest like I did in my Fusion. I'm still considering how to add heated steering wheel if possible.

Yeah the padding won’t last very long . Took a trip and really noticed it myself the other day , really poor material on Fords end .

I agree with you guys on this issue. It is the worst padded arm rest I have ever seen. In one year, there will be zero padding left. Ford totally dropped the ball.

I got it and installed it. It is made from about 2-3mm neoprene, but feels to be of good quality. The fit is good, but not great...a little loose on the passenger side--I pulled the excess under the lid and "stretched" it over the 2 posts that sick up on the underside of the lid. Now the fit is better. I'll be looking for some high or medium density foam (~5mm thick) to place under the cover, since the cover isn't as thick or as soft as I would like it....but that's me. Your results may vary. If they had used 5mm neoprene for the top and the thinner for the sides, it would probably be more comfortable, IMO.

I don’t necessarily have any comfort complaints but I might get this as a protective measure. Please report back after a few days to share whether this thing slides around and gets bunched up weirdly. That would be a deal breaker for me.
