I think your timeline is unrealistic at best and quite possibly impossible these days. I have been waiting on a 2021 Ranger Lariat SCREW 4X4 for 6 months so far with no end in sight. According to Ford, the order was accepted four months before the build began with the Blend date being 8/12. Here I site over two months later and Ford is still NOT indicating it is built and ready for shipping.

Good luck getting a truck in 3 to 4 months! As a buyer, at this point I don't believe any timelines anyone says.
I can almost promise you your truck is sitting at MAP waiting for a part that needed chips and Ford is either skipping it due to the dealer you ordered through or they have forgotten about it. Mine was in the exact same position, same time as yours. Then I saw members here posting that they had received their trucks that were ordered after mine was back from upfitter and sat in the lot of despair in Michigan. Twitter exchange with Ford got it shipped the next day. I wish I had done it sooner.

If this is true, this would be a real good deal on a new Ranger. Not only would the 3% under invoice smoke any dealer in the Phoenix area, the sales tax would just be the AZ state sales tax at 5.6%. That would be a 3% savings on sales tax (no city or county tax) if you purchased from a dealer in Phoenix. Additionally the doc fee would be $300-$400 less and no worthless add-ons. You got my attention!
Most states have it in place that you'll pay the tax for the city and county you live in regardless of where you bought it. Hopefully for you AZ is different.

Hi, everyone My name is Zach and I'm the dealer principal at a Ford dealership in Granger, Iowa. Many of you are familiar with Ford's COVP program, and I view it as a huge opportunity for our store and anyone interested in purchasing a Ford Ranger. We are offering 3% under invoice on any Ranger truck that is a retail order. There's no catch or gimmick. We view it as a huge opportunity to increase our market share locally and gain business we woldn't have had otherwise. To get a quote started just email a Build & Price from Ford's website to [email protected]

Just a few quick notes (because I know I'll get asked!)

1 - Our documentation fee is $180.
2 - There are NO mandatory add ons.
3 - There is a Non-Refundable $1000 deposit due at order.
4 - We will get you an electronic signature document with options, pricing, and details for your signature before placing the order.
5 - We do not participate in courtesy deliveries to other dealerships.
6 - We do accept trades! Because of the volatile trade market we can give you a trade value 30 days from delivery.

2022 Ranger Wait times are 3-4 months and I'd anticipate a little longer than that on initial model year startup.

We are offering 3% Under invoice pricing on F-150 and Maverick retail orders as well.

I appreciate the opportunity and would love to be an asset to this community.

Thanks!

Zach

Hey, I think I know you. :)

Hellofva deal my friend:thumbsup:.

I second what our friend Dave @AzScorpion said, Zach, and his crew are legit. I get my questions answered quicker from Granger than I ever have from the local dealer I've dealt for over 30 years. My local dealer is adding 5K to the sticker on Bronco orders, and area dealers are adding even more. That's why I will be driving 1100 miles to pick up my Bronco.

Jim, I had to fix it just a little for you. :giggle:

You are correct that the law has changed since I did this before. From what I can find, in Arizona, you are responsible for state and city tax for the city the vehicle resides in. Supposedly the buyer does not have to pay the county which just means a reduction in sales tax of 0.7%.

Well .7% is better than nothing at least. The major metro areas in most states got the laws changed so they stopped losing the revenue from the tax. In Illinois, nobody used to buy a vehicle in Cook County/Chicago because they were always so much higher on tax.

It is something, but it doesn't move the needle. It would probably cover most of the gas driving the Ranger from Iowa to Arizona.

Just imagine how nice that drive would be in a new truck. You'd be able to get a photo at the I80 Truck Stop with like 20 miles on your truck!

My truck was ordered may 3 sitting at map awaiting chips. When I sa members here getting there trucks I reached out to Ford . Got the truck 3 days later. So this is a real thing.

I was told by Ford CS via phone that it was due to Ford changing the order fulfillment process and nothing could be done. Fast forward a week or so and I try Twitter and it shipped right away, which makes me think it was more like the plant wasn't bothering to fill orders waiting for parts but were instead just using them on new orders. Either way, Ford does not have a handle on the order process at all.

FWIW, in 17 I ordered a new Mustang on 4/11, two days latter I had the VIN and a scheduled build date the week of 5/8. It was actually built on 5/10. It sat waiting on transport to the end of May when it was finally scheduled to come by rail. It arrived at the dealership on 6/12 and I took delivery on 6/13. The fastest delivery on a new car was 6 weeks in 2011 when my wife ordered a new MK3 Focus.

I bought my Ranger off the lot. The build date was 6/21/21. I purchased it on 8/17.
