Epic journey from OC CA to CT

Okay about to embark on a great journey from California to Connecticut to see my son and grandkids.

The back story is he gave me a motorcycle I just sold and I have a few handmedowns he really wants. I’ve never driven that far but since I’ve been recently retired I’m thinking what the hell why not. It’ll be a solo trip without my wife and I have a few couch crash spots both ways. So why not??? A motel or two but just driving miles..

Any suggestions??

I’m getting close to taking the same journey. We live in San Diego. And are moving to New Jersey and taking the drive the first week of August. When is your drive?

Have a safe trip.

First thing I always do before our long trips is bring my truck in and have them go through it thoroughly. I have them change the oil, check the transmission fluid, brakes, alignment and the whole drivetrain. It helps that I know the manager at my local Brakes Plus and trust them with my truck.

Too funny, I actually sat next to him on a 3 hour flight when smoking was still allowed. He hated flying so he drank and chain smoked the entire flight. Really funny stories he had. Good ole Jack Elam.

Do you think she's going to be able to stop those two? Larry will distract her and before you know it Duke will have the whole house filled with his frat buddies. You'll then come home to this.

Yes that's Duke proud of what he's done. Now he's trying to figure a way to get it all back together before you get home. ?

Drive safe! If you're going to be in New Haven, CT. check out the IKEA there. I love the room set ups and odd items you can find there. Near by is "Food truck paradise" which is this strip of food trucks by the wharf. I haven't stopped to eat at any of the food trucks but it's always bustling when I'm leaving IKEA. If you're still in New Haven and in the mood for authentic ramen I'd suggest checking out "Ramen Kuro Shiro". If you're into casino's I'd suggest Fox Woods. I don't gamble but I went there anyways to see Deadmau5 and I had a great time there. Plus I had a great deal on a room for the night in the Fox Tower.

I don't know how long you'll be out here on the East coast but if you want to check out some nice areas continue driving up on I-91N until you reach Massachusetts. There's a bunch of breweries, pot dispensaries for both medical and recreational, there's the Manhan Rail trail ( bicycle friendly path that starts around Easthampton, MA to Amherst, MA. ) I'd suggest sticking around western MA near I-91. Springfield is okay there's the MGM casino.

Keep your eyes open I've seen a bunch of Rangers in both CT and MA!
