When I retired last year my company gift was a house rental for 5 days in Orick Ca. It appears to a very small town in the Redwoods. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do and places to visit? We've been to the Redwoods north of there and IMO it's the most beautiful place on earth. Food suggestions are also welcome.

Bald Hills road, farther south the wildcat road to Petrolia and then up the Mattole to Shelter Cove is worth the trip. If you’re going up towards Oregon go out the Illinois River rd towards Kalmiopsis wilderness near Cave Junction. If going east on Bald Hills go out towards Salmon River or up towards the Marble mountains. Also Ruth Lake to Zenia Mountain road, the Hettenshaw Valley and Alderpoint Road are beautiful too but not quite in the Orick area. Near Orick there’s a cool road that goes out through the National Park to a beach there. Clam Beach and Samoa dunes by Arcata are open for driving on too.
