I am trying to get the inner CV out of the transfer case and it wont budge. I have been prying on it for two days and cannot seem to get it out. Has anyone got any tips for getting this removed? It has come out some but I cannot seem to get the thing out. I have a tire install scheduled Friday and right now the truck is not drivable.

we use an air hammer when they get stubborn, you can also try and use the pry bar as a punch and hit it with a big hammer from the back side

If you have some movement (In/Out) - spray some lube on the shaft and work, it (In/Out)
Then push it in - and using 2 hands, give it a Quick Motion - Jerk.
Or
A Slide Hammer with a - Adapter Plate that will fit around the shaft.
The TRICK is getting past the tension of the circlip, and a quick motion pull / jerk helps get past that tension.

Some slide hammer kits come with a plate that will fit, and they do make an adapter specifically made for CV Shafts- or you can make your own out of steel plate.
I have both as I once made my own in a pinch.

I do not like using the prybar method, due to marring the axle output housing and or marring the seal - Like in the posted pic.

Example:
Or steel plate with a hole drilled and then use nuts to secure it to the slide hammer vs a threaded adapter like this.
