OT: What is a paintless dent emergency? LOL

I contacted a dude and went to his shop at noon. Waiting there, and he finally calls me at 12:10 and said he 'tried to call me' but he had an emergency. Said he we could meet at 3pm (which is when I originally asked him, and he said he couldn't).

I said I'll come at 3pm. I won't. He had his chance. I'll find someone else.

OK, so the first guy (above) hymned and hawed about it being hard, and said it would be at least 4-500. I didn't go back to him, as said above.

I contacted another mobile guy and sent pics, and he's like, oh yeah, easy. Probably $150.

Some folks want the work and some don’t seem to care. Others try and make it sound like a moon landing so they can charge a lot. I bet that guy charging $150 will do a good job and be grateful for the work.

I hope it works out Tom.

Yep. I had watched a youtube vid on a similar dent, and he removed the plastic wheel well liner so he could easily work on it. The first guy I called said he may have to get into it through the stop light. Looking back on it, I'm glad I didn't let him do it.

I'm going back up to our other place today, so once I'm back and get it fixed I'll post pics.

I went to the paintless dent guy. He worked on it for 30-45 minutes and then said, sorry man, I can't get this out. It was too smashed at the joint and it wouldn't budge. He didn't charge me and gave me the name of a body shop that he said was 'top end'. I drove over and got the estimate, and it turns out he's a repair shop my insurance company uses, so it will be more or less painless for me... minus my deductible.

The shop did say he is rated in the top 5 within a 50 mile radius, if you want to believe that. I hate having to get paint work, but it is what it is.
