This is the first I am hearing about it, but I didn't replace any o-rings... I also reused the axle nut. Depending on how many miles you have with them, I believe they are fine.My 2019 4WD Lariat Ranger just decided to have it's right front shock leak. I have ordered Eibach coil overs and have read much on this site, watched You Tube Videos, and reviewed the Ford Service Manual on CD to prepare for the replacement. I am stumped with one part. The Ford Service Manual says to replace the wheel hub axle nut and the wheel hub O-ring seal. I have not found the O-Ring seal any where. All parts that come up trace back to 2010 or 2008. Is there really an O-Ring Seal I need to replace as part of the installation?
General rule of thumb on those axle nuts is to replace them when you pull them off, at least according to Ford. They're not that expensive so i opted to replace them when I installed my new shocks. I mean, I get that, but they also aren't anything special... If there was a crush nut, crush washer, something that would warrant replacement, I would have. Just sharing what I did.General rule of thumb on those axle nuts is to replace them when you pull them off, at least according to Ford. Re-reading the instructions, I think I was confusing wheel bearing replacement with the task at hand. So, there is no O-Ring to replace. Thank you for replying. I did receive the nuts and others. My dealer did give me a quote to change both sides and align. So, I am going to let the dealer do the install. I have however, adjusted the coil overs so that they are at near 0" height adjustment. I left 5 threads at the bottom of the shock housing.General rule of thumb on those axle nuts is to replace them when you pull them off, at least according to Ford. Good to hear. I am probably going to order the coilovers tomorrow. So, the dealer did the install and the Eibach Pro-Truck Coilover 2.0 shocks are great! I love the ride. Even my wife has noticed! I have had the rear shocks for a couple years and now I have Eibachs on front and rear.
