  1. Used my Ranger to pull a Tacoma out of the mud

My son got his brand new Tacoma stuck in the mud today. It was a joy to be able to pull him out with my Ranger. I included some visual stimulation........ Enjoy.

  3. Ranger performs well in IIHS crash tests

Better seeing those Rangers getting smashed up then mine! I too am glad to see the Ranger got high marks. Honestly I was a little uneasy buying this truck before knowing it’s crash rating. Good job Ford!
  4. What did you do to your Ranger today?

I did a couple things to my Ranger today to improve its look and function. Thought I would share This morning I had all the windows tinted. I had them add 5% tint to all the back windows to black it out and put 75% tint (ceramic to block UV) in the two front windows. I think it looks perfect...
  5. PandaMotorWorks Tailgate Damper

Count me in too. I want this on my truck
  6. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

I’m convinced the sound is coming from the engine compartment. I’m also convinced that Ford should recognize it as a sound that is troubling to many owners. Unfortunately, like many others that take their truck to the dealer, they are told the sound is “normal” for this engine. The fact that the...
  7. 2020 Ranger: Will it get the 2.7 V-6 Eco Boost?

My dealer is selling the Rangers like hot cakes. They also have plenty on hand at all trim levels. I just checked their inventory and they have 71 to choose from.
  8. Ranger Factory video

That’s the way it should be!
  9. Ranger Factory video

I thought the same thing when I saw the video. Why aren’t they wearing a uniform?? I’m sure it has something to do with cost savings and the union workers wanting a ton of money for cleaning and upkeep. Not that I don’t think they deserve it, but it comes down to the mighty dollar in the end.
  10. Ranger Factory video

This is probably nothing new to some of you, but I came across this short video of the Ford Ranger assembly plant. I found it interesting and thought I would share for those who have not seen it.
  11. Owner's Feedback, and a Proper Introduction

Possibly. I cant speak from personal experience because I don’t do any serious off roading or rock crawling, nor do I plan to. But doing even a limited search online for reviews comparing off-road capabilities between the ranger and the Tacoma, the Tacoma comes out on top. Not by much, but...
  12. Owner's Feedback, and a Proper Introduction

I traded my Tacoma for the Ranger. I had a Tacoma for a year and I didn’t enjoy driving it. The engine and transmission combo made the Tacoma feel absolutely gutless. The seating position was to low, making you feel like you were sitting on the floor. There was no power seat option in the 2018...
  13. Uncomfortable seats

Yes, I traded my Tacoma for the Ranger and the seat in the Ranger is far better. No comparison!
  14. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

I couldn’t agree more! I drove to work today and the buzzing was driving me crazy. Makes the engine sound like it’s about to fall apart. It’s like nails on a chalkboard for me. This can’t be “normal”
  15. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

This is exactly my experience with the damn buzzy noise. The engineers need to figure out a way to keep the noise from transferring into the cab of the truck. Maybe use rubber washers at the mounting points to cushion the vibration, something,,,, anything.
  16. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

I’m running 91 octane. That’s the highest octane readily available in my area in Northern California.
  17. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

The fan is clear. I thought when I first looked into it that it might be the fan clutch but it’s not. It is definitely coming from the engine area. To me this is NOT normal. It didn’t sound like this for the first 200 miles. I agree it sounds like a lifter, it’s loud and mechanical and...
  18. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

Ok. I uploaded to YouTube (I think). I have never done this before so hopefully it works. If it does, what you are hearing is the motor at idle. Notice when I move around to the left side of the motor toward the rear of the engine compartment it gets louder. I will take another video when it...
  19. Loose tailgate cable

Mine is the same. When the tailgate is open, the passenger side is tight and drivers side has a little slack. My Tacoma was the same. I wonder if that is by design?
  20. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

I tried to post a video but the file size was larger then allowed by the server. Not sure what the max size is but I’m sure it was listed in the member agreement I didn’t read when I joined the group  I’ll try and link it to my shared google docs and attach a link.
