Based on what I have read, and balancing the pro's and con's of adding a catch can system to these engines, I'm a hard NO for now and will wait an see what issues myself and others report down the road. The 2.3L has been out for a number of years in the mustang and I'm not convinced that there...
That's partly why I will be looking into 5 Star Tuning. They have a purchase option to email you one of their custom tunes that are compatible with these SCT BDX tuners. Chris from Panda Motor Works gave me such a great deal on this tuner that it was cheaper to buy the tuner from him and order...
So I connected my new SCT BDX tuner to my Ranger tonight and installed the 91 octane tune. OMG, it actually makes a difference in acceleration that you can feel!! I was impressed. I have never tuned any of my cars before and I was skeptical that I would be able to notice a real difference...
I had an air-lift system on my Ram 1500 and loved it for towing. I’m definitely interested in a set for my Ranger. I just need to wait. According to my wife, I’ve spent all of my extra allowance on truck stuff already. :(
I was able to disable my start stop but I wonder if it has also disabled something else, like the battery management system. My understanding is that is what happens on the F150 when disabling the start/stop. Anyone know if other features are disabled with the start/stop disabled on the Ranger.
They activated my account in one day. I got an email on Monday June 17 that the account was created but it was in an inactive status. The next day on June 18, I got an email saying that my account was now active.
@LightningBlue, this post was from back in March. Just curious, did you get the dyno done on your truck with 91 octane with stock equipment? I really want to know if the higher octane provides any significant gains without a tune.
Mine had 43 when we did the paperwork. But 27 of that was part of my test drive the day I bought it. The sales guy let me drive it to my house to show my wife. So it had about 16 when I looked at it.
I’m kind of a clean freak when it comes to my cars and trucks. I have less then 1k on my Ranger but I’ve taken it on some dirt roads and pulled my son’s Tacoma out of the mud. Things got a little dirty, including the engine compartment. I detailed it today and it’s now more clean then when it...
I’m torturing myself in trying to decide between the Livernois or 5 Star tune. Now I’m finding the Unleashed and the JB4 tuning. Too many choices! What made you go with Unleashed? Hot dogs and beans, easy choice, no brainer. And nice to meet you hambone!
True, the Ranger would have undoubtedly got stuck as well. But I’m older and wiser and know better then to plow through a deep soupy mud puddle. :like:
