  1. Goodbye Ranger

I agree, totally fine with being insulted as being a "boomer", non boomers will understand when they grow up. Nothing against EVs but they have a ways to go. Anything that I have to subsidize as a taxpayer is not ready to compete yet. Lots of room for improvement over the next decade and they...
  2. Goodbye Ranger

Getting 14 mpg in a Ranger is hard to understand, sounds close to the Cummins I traded for the Ranger. But I would suspect driving habits, so don't expect to get stated range from the EV either.
  3. FORScan Crowdsourced Wiki

I experienced the same, not totally sure what the ipc does, it did disable the indicator at first, but then when I did the bcm disable the indicator came back.
  4. CTEK response to Ground Connection question

This on is about $50 on Amazon and works great. NOCO GENIUS2D, 2-Amp Direct-Mount Onboard Charger, 12V Automotive Car Battery Charger, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger and Battery Desulfator with Temperature Compensation https://a.co/d/gvN2erG
  5. CTEK response to Ground Connection question

It makes sense that the BMS needs to know ingoing and outgoing current for the battery which it will not be aware of if you connect on the battery side of the sensor. The system is always on since it is monitoring draw when the vehicle is not running and can shut systems down. Clearly it is also...
  6. I'll be facing a dilemma in a few months

Yep, that's a key fob upgrade that gives total remote control. Can do that in Forscan.
  7. I'll be facing a dilemma in a few months

You are going to have to list the mods on that because you know some will want to duplicate that on their Ranger
  8. I'll be facing a dilemma in a few months

How much dealer mark up on that one?
  9. Goodbye to all my Ranger friends

I would also like to hear how your transition is to a tethered vehicle and if you feel limited. I know in Cali you won't have much choice soon but I am waiting since I believe battery tech will improve greatly in the near future. No way I could drive one from NM to Cali without adding days to...

It's on 4 just west of the Valles Caldera, similar looking area.

  12. Ford BMS Battery Monitoring System: How it Works and How to Properly Charge Your Battery!

Based on your mileage you likely don't drive enough to keep it charged. Charger should help, just make sure the charger ground is on the chassis side of the current sensor. My understanding is that even if the battery is charged, if the current sensor was not recording the charge it will...
  13. Dead battery

Yes what I have seen the H6 and H7 are the same size. You will see different cca ratings on different brands Motorcraft generally being lower.
  14. Ford's new F150 Lightning battery pack is so powerful it can be used to power Americans' homes during blackout

Lots of heavy metal, the next Superfund will be needed to clean it up.
  15. Ford's new F150 Lightning battery pack is so powerful it can be used to power Americans' homes during blackout

Currently electric vehicles pay no Highway tax as it is collected at the pump. As more are in use that will have to change. I recently did a build of an electric truck on the ford site and they have a trip time calculator. Compared the trip I drive to California and it came up 18 hours, same as...
  16. Dead battery

Just replaced mine and they should be 760 or 800, the higher capacity is for the Lariat, would advise getting that one. Yours is showing as the 760.
  17. Wiper Fluid Smell

Checked mine, smells like cranberry. Yours is broken or needs it's clock reset.
  18. Ford BMS Battery Monitoring System: How it Works and How to Properly Charge Your Battery!

Any idea now to reset as it describes when you replace the battery? The owners manual does not mention the reset under replacing the battery. so does it reset when power is disconnected?
  19. Ford BMS Battery Monitoring System: How it Works and How to Properly Charge Your Battery!

I think it's personal preference. I prefer the watertight receptacle I have(110) which seals well and not have a dangling cable in the grille. There may be a similar low voltage sealed/mountable plug but I already had the onboard type charger from my RV and had the outlet with a timer I...
