Yes directly over the axle, any forward or back is shifting the weight between the axles which will impact your steering response. Also the reason 5th wheel trailers are much more stable to tow in spite of much more weight.
Apparently installed by the dealer to track their vehicles. It is a cellular device that has a sim card and battery that can transmit location. Wired into power and are sometimes left in the vehicle when sold. Mine made random beeping noises at different times.
While this seems correct I think the bigger problem is the BMS charging to only 70% of capacity.
Ford has designed the battery to be be the sacrificial lamb in the pursuit of an extra .3 miles per gallon.
I agree the 70% is the problem. May work ok if you drive a lot, but will still shorten...
A Nissan dealer here in Abq does that, when I was buying my wife's Rogue they were 5k higher than the other dealer and kept telling me I was getting a free extended warranty! I never buy extended warranties and they wouldn't remove it so I bought at the other dealer and saved 5 grand.
