Sorry, thought you meant about the whole truck build. here is the Grill Guard thread https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/westin-hdx-winch-mount-grille-guard-_-57-93985-install-on-xlt-fx4-super-crew.11037/ And YES I'd do it again :) The Westin folks could easy make a kit for the Fx4...
I used Itunes to rip every CD with the Apple Lossless Codec. Then transferred to my 128 gb iphone. Use the USB Connect from phone to truck for music to get actual HD Sound. Bluetooth compresses the crap out of the audio and the reproduction stinks. Going to upgrade speakers and install a...
Searched, searched, searched for best price, found here @ Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086VYP384/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Got here SO FAST too. I was not ready to install it for 2 weeks.
I installed the Westin HDX Winch mount grill guard. Here is my thread: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/westin-hdx-winch-mount-grille-guard-_-57-93985-install-on-xlt-fx4-super-crew.11037/
I have installed the guard on my Fx4. It is lovely. See my thread here https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/westin-hdx-winch-mount-grille-guard-_-57-93985-install-on-xlt-fx4-super-crew.11037/
The HDX Winch Mount Grille Guard _ #57-93985 does not fit the Ford Ranger XLT Fx4 w/o some mods. 1st step was to remove bumper in order to mount Upper Support Strap. This works fine on Fx4. Instructions provided are good EXCEPT instructions should stipulate that the “support straps” mount to the...
Zero crack or axle sag using the diff as lift point for jack. I lifted gently w/ empty truck and let the axle down onto jack stands b4 taking off the wheels. Yes it would be nice if trucks were built for people w/o fancy 4point lifts to work on, but then, shops would lose out on the $.
You are correct, sketchy is my forte. The bikes are to camouflaged the work in progress from snoopy HOA bores. 4 stands as needed to remove all wheels to add the 1.25" Rugged Ridge Wheel Spacers to accommodate the 295/70 R17 Toyo open Coutry R/T Tires after the BDS 3.5" coil over lift w/...
Ima dork and did not keep a pick of the rear jack point in the diff. Also, I cried when I knew I had lost that 6" piece of 2x4. It will never be part of a mansion now. It will, alas, just add a bit of heat to our home in the winter.
I LOVE the way my Fx4 rides. I did add a 3.5" BDS Lift kit w/ Upper Control Arms, 1" shackle lift in rear and BDS Nx2 Rear shocks. It rode FINE w/o the suspension mods but I needed more clearance for bigger tires. It is a little floaty but I rather like that over a harsh pelvis cracking ride.
There are 2 giant holes in the back wall of the cab behind the rear seat, "vents" . You can't close them as far as I can tell. Water would have to be about 18" up sides of truck to get in.
2 days ago I completed install of the BDS Intrusion Bars. The Truck body was installed AFTER the intrusion bars so they are "trapped" by the body. Major PITA . I did not remove the front bumper as advised in the instructions. Just hacked the factory bars w/ angle grinder and Sawsall. Pulled...
Tire pressure goes up when warm. Pressure will be hier after driving, and during day. @ 230 am your tires are probly rested, coolest, would expect lowest pressure then.
Point well taken Racket. I put on the Cat Back Exhaust, wrapped it in fiberglass myself, installed the injen intake kit myself, installed the BDS intrusion beams myself. I am happy to pay a shop to install the 3.5" BDS Lift kit w/ UCA's, 1" shackle lift - paying them for their time and...
BTW, the purple colored hose, part # 6A664, is a bendable corrugated hose. It is where aftermarket Catch Cans tap into the PCV system. Rather than pay CRAZY $200 for a kit containing $15 of hose and a $25 catch can with a bronze filter. I am thinking of just cutting this hose, adding some...
