How did you get the driveshaft from Tom Wood's? I emailed them Wednesday and got an answer back from Shawn Wood that there is the supply chain issue delaying production. I have been on their notification list ever since it was added on their website.
The 10 speed transmission seems to be very cranky when cold. If I start and go when it's below freezing the shift from reverse to drive usually has a slight delay and the shifting is very clunky for the first couple of minutes. If I let it warm up there are usually no problems.
How's the one piece shaft doing since last check in? Hopefully still smooth and problem free.
I am waiting to hear back from Tom Woods after getting on their list via the website. Looks like they are still testing a couple of prototypes.
@VegasRanger , Now that you have had the new driveshaft just over a week, how is it going? Have you had any vibrations or shuddering develop? I hope it is as smooth as the day you put it on.
Interesting! This one has been on the dealership lot for about a month or maybe just a little more, it's an XLT with the 2.7 Ecoboost. Window sticker says is was born on 7/13/21.
I wonder what Ford uses as a deciding factor for one piece or two piece driveshaft? A friend of mine has an F-150...
What is really interesting is VegasRanger's driveshaft costs less than the kit for the TSB 20-2277 which is $520 vs $451.79 for the driveshaft.

I wonder if the two piece driveshaft was already manufactured for another Ford vehicle and was easier to grab out of the bin than engineer a new one specific to the Ranger? Two piece is more expensive to make but if it was already in production it might make sense to why. Just taking a guess here.
I am very interested to see how things settle in once you do your work commute for a week or two. I am hoping for the best results. This gives hope for a shudder free future.
I don't have any driveline vibes at highway speeds, we have plenty of roads around here with ripples that do that for us. I have the take off shudder and have reduced it by removing the flat shims the dealership should have when they did the TSB. I have to re-check my pinion angle (last check...
It's interesting how the shudder will vary in intensity. I am anxiously awaiting your results of the one piece driveshaft. Do they already have it fabricated or are they doing the fab and install same day?
