Not unless they have an eletric pump that we don't have on the 2.3. Extended idle cool down for semi normal driving was more of an issue with oil only turbos and or when oil sucked in general. If you didn't cool it down oil would shitmix the turbo. The only time I cool mine down before shutoff...
I think I like nissans 30k or 3 years. Based on where I sit now it will be 30k right, around 2 years total. Very humid here.. don't want water settling down near the calipers and flashing to steam when I really need the brakes to transfer forward momentum into heat......
@LevittownFordParts.com thank you for not including an invoice in the box. Wife opened it.... thinks it was cheap because foam. Not exactly super expensive but not 20 bux either.
Didn't pay a crap ton for it and it showed up very quickly with the install hardware @LevittownFordParts.com
Yes yes I'll clean the bay when it cools down a bit. Always weird about doing that with so many electronics etc. I'll at least dust it and give it a gentle wipe down. Eventually....
Anyone who thinks a turbo is unreliable in general either bought an ebay special for their civic as a kid.. or doesn't understand they like oil temps to get to normal before hammering on them and if you do hammer on them... don't come to an immediate stop and shut them down. Let them cool off...
Thought about this post today when I had to throw the spare on thanks to a flat. Snapped some pictures as it got dark when the normal tire was going back on.
Just hit 27k miles. I cause the TC light to come on from time to time. Looks like plenty of pad left and no rotor wobbling going on yet...
Screw took it from ok to 20psi in a hurry... slowed once I got the weight off it. Luckily it's in the center and a new tire.
Sitting at Firestone atm. I think they are balancing it. I forgot to grab a picture of the last balancing job but... wow the number of weights they used. I'll add that...
Mine did something similar at almost 2 years and 26k miles. Waiting for the how they are gonna fix it. I didn't want to leave it with Ford while they figure out the 5Ws and they didn't have a Loaner to give at the moment.
Yep.
The company I work for is doing the opposite. Vertically integrating like crazy - build it all in house - with our own warehouse for storage if something dumbs outside of our control. Like key raw material. Easy for us since we already have everything people wise; design engineers...
I don't remember who but I remember someone solving this exact problem by doing that. Got lucky, found one sitting around, and the other dealer was willing to ship it over.
You would think they would have some sort of inventory but dealer to dealer... ehh..
Semi related:
I got the stethoscope out after messing around with the intake. Sort of curious what was making all the noise at idle. Poked the near near the cam phasers and chain. Sounds nice and normal - very quiet actually. Poked the valve cover over the valves. Nice and normal; also very...
Installed this thing. More power? No idea with the tune. I swear it is quieter at WOT... but it looks neat. I figure it might help when combined with the AEM filter in the box.
Excellent packing @SpaceGhost. USPS used it as a rugby ball or bowling ball. Box was totally shitmixed but the...
I heard it as well but like you. No idea whats causing that. My issue has to be driven to get it to make the noise. Revving sitting still doesn't do it so a stethoscope is out. Unless someone is really brave.
My high pressure fuel pump makes noise when it's 50-60 degrees out and between 3 and 4k rpm. It didn't start it up until after a year or so. Why? No idea. It's working fine other than that weirdly specific set of variables that make it sound like it's pinging, from inside the cab anyway...
