  1. I just got a 2023 XLT Tremor

Fellow black ranger in the greater Houston area. Either have child labor like me to try and keep it clean... or buy a membership deal to a car wash. So pretty for a few minutes.... Welcome!!!!! If you are going to mod it; tune it. A few options out there but nothing beats it dollar for...
  2. My new truck was delivered today

Also; one GM I got rid of went 1000% crazy two weeks after I let it go. I did not screw the new owner over.. they just have a really weird power setup. On that truck; two power inputs into the ECM. One of them went wonky and caused massive chaos and stranded the current owner. Then the moron...
  3. engine start stop

If you don't have the AC plug in the back the easiest way to kill it (other than pushing the button every time) is unplug the sensor on the negative battery terminal. That will kill the monitoring system so it wont attempt to shut down. It wants to make sure it has enough power to start back up...
  4. New here.

Should have bought a Tacoma ::hides in the woods with my 2wd::
  5. Hail!

Booo.. rain slowed. I got a few dings on the hood.. but not the top..... Aluminum vs Steel I guess. Nothing horrible but I can see it at the right angle. I also had a wiper get torn? I kept hearing a clicking noise as it reversed direction right after the storm. Finally checked it out and the...
  6. My new truck was delivered today

I got rid of my GMs but I liked them more than Ford for a long time. It seems like for Ford they either make a really good motor or a turd. GM seems to have smaller issues all over but cheaper failure points (if you known how to use a multimeter....) IMO the 2.3 with the cross drilled deck is...
  7. P0299 turbo

Hoping it's just a loose intake pipe or maybe a weak BOV. I'd get it running and go listen around under the hood. Shake intake related things and see if noises change or especially if the idle changes. A bit more risky way to look for a leak is to spray carb cleaner around intake connectors...
  8. Hail!

I went to cover the aluminum bit and glass. Also, if it was dinged I'd see the hood all the time when driving and it would annoy me more than roof dings. That was the logic going into what little time I had; but valid point on what's easier to fix overall. Next time it's possible I'm getting...
  9. Hail!

Nice. I even had one in the garage... but the hail was already falling and I didn't have time to air it up. That and pull the straps out if my swing case.. Might go that route if I have time in the future.
  10. Intermittent engine rattle under moderate acceleration

Does it happen when the ambient temps are in the 50s?
  11. Hail!

It was under a tree that you can't see in the pic. It was being hit but the ice was pinkoing down to it. So it seems ok as well.
  12. Hail!

I saw one golf ball sized bit bounce in my back yard. Rushed to the Ranger that had no tree cover. What to do.. looks down at old Army shit in a bucket I need to do something with...... Fuck it. Protect the glass and the aluminum hood! Three or 4 generations of cammo and the stupid mat...
  13. Misfire on Cyl 1

Headgasket failure on number 1? I'd be more concerned if it was 2 or 3 misfiring and coolant vanishing. I'd say it's a coil/plug issue. And skip the cleaning. I'm super happy to see the results of our intake valves not being super crap at 50k with the awesome same size of one engine being...
  14. Air filters

I just swapped my K&N for an AEM dryflow. K&N for the price of shipping with 18k miles on it. Disclaimer. I swapped because some data I saw made me think the AEM dry filtered better than the oiled filer. I normally run/ran K&N in the past but on N/A motors.
  15. 2023 Ranger - whining noise at idle and low speeds

Trans pump has straight cut gears. I also freaked out. Normal. I hear it near a building etc
  16. Ford Performance Tuner

The trans remap alone might be worth it.
  17. My Ranger Mutated

I genuinely enjoy my big Kia when it's time to move all the kids. If I'm just taking one or two I take my Ranger.
  18. My Ranger Mutated

I have a herd of kids and a minivan shares the driveway with my Ranger.
  19. Catalytic converter failed at 45k miles

If I can find the link to the 2019 design I'll post it. They mention the cross drilled there from the start and beyond. I wasn't sure either until that. Maybe because of the possible towing stress... dunno but it's good.
  20. And There I was at the Charging Station

Riding a cow with mad cow disease that also has serious gas issues.
