Replaced the mishimoto catch can outlet hose. I'm going to look into some steel braided lines, in hopes of not having to do this every year. It's only been 10 months and that line split. Heard a whooshing sound when I would get on the gas, last night. Found that when I got home.
It's funny that I noticed the hoses starting to crack. Tonight, while driving home, I heard an unusual "woosh" sound coming from the driver side engine bay when I'd get on the accelerator. When I got home, I looked around and found that the hose that leaves the catch can back to the manifold...
I'm running the regular 91-93 performance tune. So far, so good. My butt dyno says I'm getting the same power as my 93 5 Star tune, but I'm seeing much less knock retard.
Nope… but they are outstanding quality. Thick and sturdy. I have no issue paying for quality. The other ones I saw for $30 or less were literally pieces of vinyl, no thicker than a vinyl decal from a circuit machine.
Off the top, I know you can see accelerator position, boost, coolant temp, fuel pressure, gear, intake temp, knock retard or advance values, load, long and short-term fuel trims, octane adjustment ratio, rpm, spark advance, desired and actual throttle inlet pressure, vvt values, airflow values...
Those are both available on my SCT BDX, so should be available through Torque Pro. The big one that I'd like to see, but we can't in our trucks is oil pressure. You don't know there's a problem with oil pressure, until the idiot light comes on.
I don't know about on Torque Pro, but on my SCT...
I have noticed my Mishimoto hoses cracking, as well. What is different about the UPR hoses? Different material? I'm glad Ford moved that vacuum port to the top.
I had a very frustrating adventure following Mishimoto's outdated instructions trying to feel around and find it around the PCV port...
He's got balls to try it at 60-70, without knowing what will happen.
Soooo.... can we do this in our 5Gs? I'm not trying it. But, it does bring to mind some good pranks to play on the passenger who likes to sleep on a trip.
I’m not familiar with everything they offer, but probably the 91-93 performance tune.
Got to get it all setup tomorrow. In your experience, how long does it generally take to receive the tunes once I send in the request form?
Pfft... single lane driving is for p...... well.... nevermind.
It's my truck's 15k mile anniversary! I don't know about the rest of y'all... but I'm gonna celebrate with an adult beverage!
The problem then is quality control of the batteries.
I'll use an example from work. At work, we all have a portable radio assigned to us. I have a charger and two batteries. Because of the way I maintain my batteries, cycle them, and don't charge them until they are nearly completely...
When I think of EVs, I think of the practicality of charging. I live in an apartment complex. There is no where for me to install a system to charge at home. And, it would probably be a long time before an apartment complex like mine installed anything to charge EVs. And even then, I think...
