  1. Tailgate Lock

I am sure all are aware that tailgate theft is rampant! A thief with any knowledge knows that with a locking tailgate with fob also locks tailgate; however, if thief unplugs the handy electrical plug underneath the rear of truck near the bumper, the gate lock is disabled. Takes only a few...
  2. Is there an installation video for McGard VKB3Z-18168-A TAILGATE LOCK

I find the included instructional installation photos as useless. I find videos for other McGard tailgate locks, but not this one for the Ranger. Thanks folks!
  3. Will a Lincoln dealership service Ford vehicles?

Our closest Ford dealership service department sucks. There are Lincolns that use our same Ranger 2.3L engine. Has anyone had oil change service done at a Lincoln dealership and does that service support the Ranger warrantee?
  4. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Just another credit card application and when they check your credit rating... down it goes.......

  8. More issues

Check the unused trailer 4-pin connection under the rear bumper...I believe there is a rubber flip up cap to protect the connectors...maybe its off and dust dirt causes it to think there is a trailer? Worth a try? The dealer will most likely re-boot the electrical system/computer.
  9. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

2020 Consumer Reports Buying Guide states both the Ford Explorer 2.3T and Mustang with the 2.3T report lows for transmission bumpy shifts and engine noise.....but the only lows for the Ranger are controls and high step-in. GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado lows are reliability, ride...
  10. SOLVED: Engine Shroud Cover Missing On XL and XLT Trims?

Looks like it is more difficult to access the dip stick with the cover?
  11. With all the years of testing Ford did overseas with the Ranger prior to USA intro >>>

Is there any record of average and most miles put the 2.3L EcoBoost engine? I am hoping to get at least 200K trouble free miles on my Ranger engine as that is what I have put on my last 2 Tacomas.
  12. Report your MPG

2020 XLT w/ fabric Tonneau, all stock. 2600 Miles. I hyper-mile whenever possible and squeeze out 23.8 mpg average, 60% hwy and warm cold engine 1 minute. Tires at 37psi. I "try" to accelerate from stop keeping max 2k rpm up to speed. No way this truck can reach window sticker 26mpg unless...
  13. SuperCab Love

It is just that the image of the back door is backwards....still indicates if it is ajar. Never noticed it before your post! I hope this is my worst problem...not any others so far. Great truck!

  15. New 2020 Ranger issues

Having just sold my '12 Prius, I am still hypermiling my XLT scab....finally got it up to 23.7mpg. It is all in the right foot. Yes there are those that ride your bumper. Advertised 26 mpg highway must all be downhill with a tailwind. Otherwise, love this truck!
  16. Oil drain plug

I ordered a Valvomax valve. Unlike the Fumoto website that only lists up to 2017 vehicles, the Valvomax website includes 2020 Rangers. Also and highly unlikely, if the Fumoto lever accidentally gets flipped by road debris, you lose your engine oil. The Valvomax uses a screw on captured...
  17. What do you regret buying for your Ranger?

My only regret is that Ford service departments do not have the panache or professionalism of Subaru, Toyota, Honda, etc. dealer service departments including the waiting rooms. This is the first non-import named vehicle I have purchased in 45 years and though I am extremely happy with all...
  18. Oil drain plug

The Fumoto website only goes to 2017 and no Ranger. How and where did you buy the correct one for the new Ranger?
