From the SYNC side, it wouldn't show anything for multimedia. It'd be a blank message like an SMS with photo, etc. are now. The content from the message has to be passed over the MAP protocol. if SMS is coming but RCS isn't, then it's exceedingly likely the phone side app hasn't implemented the...
That's likely be a phone side thing. It'd need to send both the SMS and RCS messages and notifications over MAP to SYNC, similar to how Apple sends iMessage and SMS over MAP.
Not that I've ever seen. Usually that is reserved for a hard button on the IP when that particular vehicle requires it. The UI comes from a different team, I don't even own the voice UI other than some of the text that's displayed. :(
So, you're missing the 14G422 from the looks of it. That'd make sense. That contains all of the voice nav information for the map. Hence, when you're trying certain commands that require that data it can't access them and it kills the voice session.
Usually that indicates either a configuration problem or some issue with the language not matching the nav data. Shoot me a PM with a screengrab of the IVSU Versions diag screen.
All that should work. Is it ALL nav commands? Can you get to the Nav sub menu? Do you see them on screen? For stuttering, that also shouldn't be happening. It's possible for a sporadic interruption in normal use, but it shouldn't be common. Try running a master reset to clear it out. The reason...
Not sure on exact timeline. Couple months is my guess at this point. Any candidate release would have to go through the ringer for all update methods, plus the standard testing before it'd be released. I'll update when I know they're going out. Yes, the official update will have all of the...
The system as a whole wouldn't crash, but individual components related to voice could/would. Hopefully those would be fairly transparent and self recover if they did happen, but that's totally unknown in an improper setup. The more obvious issue would be the session just stopping abruptly due...
Not so much if you're talking Ford dealer/Owner Portal USB/OTA updates.
Happy to help.
Generally, the official updates are all rolled out worldwide, unless there's something very region specific. Then it might hit that region first, but the item would only apply to that region anyway.
Newer than that. See sig below.
It's likely that a good number of things will work. Anything that hasn't really been touched between versions should still operate the same even with the mismatch, radio for example should be fine. The problem is where there have been changes that you could run...
The issue is that USB they made only updated the one package, 381. The 381 and 391 are a paired set. I guess they haven't figured that one out yet. 391 contains all of the data, engines, etc. for voice + TTS. If there's a mismatch then various things can crash unexpectedly or flat out will not...
On the AC/DC one, you'll have to try it with v3.4 when it's available. I can't recall exactly when we fixed the one issue I mentioned, so it's possible it's in v3.4. I have several AC/DC songs/folders on my test drive and don't run into what you're seeing. Same for all other artists. It's likely...
2019's will get a proper v3.4 upgrade in a few months. That's the one that will cover all supporting MYs (anything that shipped with v3.2 software or later, and v3.2 hardware). Generally, the first few drops of a newer revision are never the first to go out to the field. The v3.0 vehicles have a...
1. Check to make sure the artist info is identical for all of them. I know in the past there were some issue where similar names were not necessarily collapsing as expected but there the names were not truly identical (ACDC, ac-dc, etc.). It may be something like that. Also, if you know you're...
1. Should work the same, especially with the old command including "Artist". How do you have your media tagged?
2. Should work the same. If you have a lot of songs with "All" in them (and not much else in the title), I can see some parasitic noise causing it to throw a selection list though...
