You can give a reset a try, won't hurt other than the annoyance of setting things up again. It's probably that same issue I had where it can't fetch the security cert for some reason. Other than that, you'd see it if the app wasn't started, or if it wasn't in the foreground. Only other times...
Correct. Press and hold both seek forward buttons down together for ~10 seconds until the speaker test begins.
For the v3.4 question, see signature below.
Not fully up on the details, but I had heard something about later builds of v3.3 having some issue with OTA update, but USB was no issue, so go with USB if it's not updating OTA. For your other question, EFP is just the IP interface, so the hard keys, knobs, etc. Electronic Finish Panel. SW is...
Yeah, I don't think the Nav apps currently work via AppLink on Android, so you're probably stuck using AA, or pushing prompts over Bluetooth and getting the notifications that way.
OK, maybe that'll help. Also double check you have the latest Waze app. There are still some app side glitches, but lately it's been pretty solid when I've used it.
You can with iPhone. It requires you disable CarPlay. Then start the app on the phone and put it in the foreground. Leave the screen on. Go to the apps screen on SYNC, select Waze, then once it gets the cert, it'll ask you to allow access and that's it. The key is Apple requires anything pulling...
I ran into this twice a long time back. My understanding is on the initial connection, the app has to fetch a certificate and that part of the process was failing. Are you on WiFi (phone) when you're trying to get it going? If so, you can killing the app, switching to cell network, then fire it...
Yes,
Press and hold both down buttons together for ~10 seconds until the speaker walk around test starts. Make sure the radio is on before you press and hold, just not loud as the tone can be harsh.
One thing you can do is enable Test Settings. Go to the Diag menu (long press seek forward on the EFP and SW), go to Testing Settings, then toggle on "Enable Test Settings". At the bottom of the list you'll have your GPS signal, satellite info etc. This enable toggle will put a tile in the...
Yes, this is much improved in v3.4 from my experience. It can still happen, but the window of opportunity is very small.
I think this is also improved in v3.4, at least I've noticed it less on my cars than when I was on v3.3.
I'd guess coincidence. Maybe some site issue the day you were trying to download or something. Usually the browser switch and ad blocking disable fixes all those issues though.
19052 will get rid of one of the annoying pop-ups, so one less annoyance perhaps.
You're 2 builds back from the latest. Pull the latest from the owner portal. Same for you @CoastieN70, it may address some of your issues if you're on an older release.
FWIW I have a 20MY Ranger now, and it's populating that info. Maybe just a bug? This one has v3.4 on the SYNC side, not sure if anything is different otherwise though.
My guess is that since CarPlay disconnects from Bluetooth, if it's trying to start up prior to the connective services software then it'll throw that error pop-up as no phone is technically connected via Bluetooth when it goes to check. I saw they've been working on this pop-up and when it shows...
Hmm. This is working fine in my Fusion with the same style cluster display. I need to hop into a Ranger one of these days anyway to do some testing, I'll see if that's any different with 3.4, or if it's some unique thing for Ranger.
