  1. Rebuilt Transmission

If they’re removing the transmission from the truck to do any repair then the transfer case gets drained/removed
  2. Rebuilt Transmission

They shouldn’t charge you for it as the fluid for the transfer case is listed as required change on the parts list in the TSB
  3. Electrical connection protection: Resolved ?

Resolved(hopefully) I used a piece of 4x4x1/8 aluminum angle to make a shield to protect the connector area. I used one of the transfer case shield bolts and one of my rock slider mounting bolts to secure it. Should do the job ?
  4. New 10R80 TSB - 25-2134

I would call Ford about this and report them. Sounds like BS to me.
  5. New 10R80 TSB - 25-2134

I never had to pay for the multiple TSB visits that I had before having the transmission replaced under warranty. Ask them if they confirm an issue using the TSB guidance if you will be refunded for the diagnostic fee
  6. Maybe trans is going out

You have a 4x4 and the new updated transmission is really cheap compared to having it rebuilt. I think you were referring to a TSB and yes there are steps in the latest TSB to test for CDF drum failure. Depending on your extended warranty you may have to pay for it to be tested but it should be...
  7. Dealership (4 weeks late on repair) called and asked if I had a tune - can't program PCM

I believe people suggested returning it to stock, which it sounds like that didn’t quite happen. Hope they get it sorted out without any hassles.
  8. Sway bar endlinks

Measured up my OEMs that I swapped out. Crude but fairly close dimensions
  9. Not dead yet...

What year Explorer? The 24 has the port and direct injected 2.3L. From what I’ve heard our engine cover doesn’t fit those. Either way you could always auction it off here .
  10. Preventive trans care

If it has the CDF drum issue then there’s not much you can do.

    That or retread shreds
  12. Electrical connection protection: Resolved ?

One of the known failures had the skid plates setup in the picture. And it got nailed by a stick. I’ve got a piece of 4x4 aluminum angle coming and will use the transfer case skid bolts and one of my rock slider mounting bolts to secure it. Should be enough ?
  13. Electrical connection protection: Resolved ?

I have a plan and I am going to build a shield. I just started this thread to see if anyone has already tackled it. I’m not touching that connector. I’ve already subjected it to plenty of gunk and it’s been fine. Truck also gets an annual Krown treatment. Just need to shield it from debris.
  14. Electrical connection protection: Resolved ?

I have RCI skids on it now but the OEM ones held surprisingly after some robust abuse in rocks. Watch the video from Ford at the bottom of this marketing release. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/multimedia/album/2021/ford-ranger-tremor.html There’s tons of YouTube videos from...
  15. Installed PPE transmission pan

There should be extra 10mm’s down there. At least that’s where mine end up.
  16. Sway bar endlinks

I have the Mevotech TTX ā€˜s on my Tremor. They’re the same as the standard Ranger
  17. Electrical connection protection: Resolved ?

It doesn’t. It’s back behind the transfer case skid plate. See picture, upper left area. The Ford transfer case skid plate is also in the same general area but also doesn’t cover it . What ever would have to be added could use the transfer case skid bolts to secure the front of it. And then go...
  18. Electrical connection protection: Resolved ?

Here’s the ad for the Tremor. They use some semi violent words LoL https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2020/09/14/ford-ranger-tremor.html
