If I was having the fuel dilution issue yes I would
  6. Fuel in oil

Bearing clearance will determine oil pressure depending on viscosity IE: A high milage engine experiencing a drop in oil pressure because of wear can be offset by running a higher viscosity oil. Increased oil temperature and risk damaging bearings my experience never happened
  7. Fuel in oil

Its not normal especially when the crankcase oil level is above maximum, per owners manual "engine damage"
  8. Think I Threw a Rod....

A few things You need to do. 1. Insist on meeting with Ford's regional rep. 2. Call other Ford dealers and get a quote on engine replacement. 3. Definitely find a different dealer to do the job. My experiences with dealers/shops they have manuals for referencing hours per job etc. Out of...

  10. Think I Threw a Rod....

Read post 738 I posted Fords high performance 2.3 crate motor as that seems to be what the OP is into so regardless of which motor he goes with quoted labor of 3058.00 plus motor comes out too 9k.

Ha only if he complies with a dealer trying to rip him a new one
  12. Think I Threw a Rod....

Not so dealer refused to replace the short block because of mods area rep overrode dealer. I find a 5k difference in repair work outrageous and the warranty work is with Ford not necessarily the dealer who is trying to rip him off. Added " who is " after dealer

  14. Think I Threw a Rod....

I believe the dealership you are dealing with has and is trying to rip you off. I had a rod knock in my car I brought it to the dealer for repairs car was still under warranty i didn't have to shell out money for them to diagnose what went wrong. The 14k is ridiculous look on line ford sells...
  15. Think I Threw a Rod....

I think the boogie man is the dealership he paid for inspecting the blown motor. My experience brought a car with a rod knock into the dealer car was under warranty they pulled the pan and found a spun rod bearing I didn't have to pay for the inspection. I had made some mods a different carb and...
  16. Think I Threw a Rod....

Wow 14k for a new stock engine, parts and labor. Ford sells 2.3 crate engine with parts for 5300.00 that means 8k for labor Yikes!!!!!
