  1. Boulder 1- Ranger 0

I might’ve spoke too soon when I said the auto shop did a good job… On the way home yesterday, the manager called and said one of his techs told him that he couldn’t remember if he tightened all the bolts on the grille guard… About half weren’t tightened all the way. Crawling around under the...
  2. Boulder 1- Ranger 0

Got her back! These guys did a good job repairing everything, can’t even tell anything happened! I did notice when I got home and backed in the carport that it shifted a little harsh from drive to reverse… Don’t think I ever noticed that before? It drove fine going up the hill though. I’ll see...
  3. People with Roof Light Bars and Excessive Wind Noise - Expert Opinion(s) Needed

Another wild idea… When my ladder rack on my work truck was making noise and whistling, I wrapped a rope around it and it stopped. Same concept as hood antennas having the spiraled design. Maybe wrap a piece of cord around it? It would look hideous but might work lol
  4. People with Roof Light Bars and Excessive Wind Noise - Expert Opinion(s) Needed

I can’t imagine this would really help that much? Maybe I’m being pessimistic lol try it and see what happens. Worst case, it doesn’t help at all and you have to deal with the noise. ?‍♂️
  5. People with Roof Light Bars and Excessive Wind Noise - Expert Opinion(s) Needed

There really isn’t a fix for this that I’m aware of. One of the reasons I didn’t put a light bar on the ranger. I also noticed with my last truck that I got a lot of reflection on the windshield and it actually hurt more than it helped, especially on dusty roads and job sites. I have a roof...
  6. Tires/wheels input

I also forgot that I’ve had Trevlstar Ecopath AT’s in the past. At the time I was on a serious budget and needed tires but couldn’t afford much more than 5 or 600 bucks. I was about to buy some used tires from a buddy until I stumbled across those online. For the price, I was amazed at how...
  7. Boulder 1- Ranger 0

    Predictably unpredictable lol
  8. Boulder 1- Ranger 0

I don’t think anything I’ve ever done in my life has made sense… Definitely not about to start today!
  9. Boulder 1- Ranger 0

I was supposed to get the truck back today after work but they found more issues apparently... They test drove it when they got it back from the alignment shop this morning and noticed the steering was all messed up. After investigating, they realized the steering gearbox is damaged as well...
  10. Moving exhaust after leaf spring hangers

Stock exhaust, nothing special. I’ve just heard things about the exhaust tip hitting leafs when you add those lift shackles. I might just get a new leaf spring assembly. Still undecided. Doesn’t matter much at the moment anyway because I don’t even have the truck back yet lol
  11. Moving exhaust after leaf spring hangers

That’s my holdup on getting leafs. I don’t wanna spend that much lol maybe I’ll do it the right way instead of cutting corners. Although, is it really cutting a corner or just not the best option?
  12. Moving exhaust after leaf spring hangers

Before my accident a few weeks ago, the next project I was planning on doing was pulling the lift blocks out of the rear end and switching to extended leaf spring shackles. I’ve read this retains the factory tow rating and is a friendlier option for your leafs. I’m also trying to get the ass end...
  13. Roadside/Emergency OE Scissor-Jack Placement

I’ve actually used the OE scissor jack more often than not. Before I recently bought a bigger shop style jack, that was the only thing I had that would reach high enough to get the tires off the ground. That and cut piece of 4x4 wood was my go to lol
  14. Aftermarket crash bars or just cut out the oems?

That’s exactly what I did. Getting the new ones back in might be a pain in the ass but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. Can’t do anything with the ranger right now anyway. Still waiting for it to come back from the body shop after a run-in with a boulder a couple weeks ago lol
  15. Aftermarket crash bars or just cut out the oems?

Also, I would use a grinder if you can instead of a sawzall. Much quicker and you won’t burn through 10 blades and 4 batteries. Speaking from experience lol
  16. Aftermarket crash bars or just cut out the oems?

I cut mine out with the intention of replacing them, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I believe someone here told me that Readylift makes the highest clearance aftermarket crash bars for our trucks. Can’t remember for sure. They’re there for a reason though. I would definitely reinstall them...
  17. Am I being stupid?

I’d go one step further and say my phone reads my freakin mind sometimes! Lol There have been more than a few times where I’ve thought about looking something up and when I start typing “what is…”, that’s the first thing that comes up in the search bar. It’ll be weird stuff too, like “what is...
  18. Completely disable the traction control the easy way

Does this do anything different than long pressing the TC button? What else does this disconnect? Already wrecked my truck once, I’d rather not have any more accidents while I own it ?
  19. Am I being stupid?

Everything we do is monitored anyway… If you use a smartphone or computer, THEY can already see everything you’re doing. I doubt the Ford app is going to expose your deepest and darkest secrets to the spying eye of the government lol On a serious note, I did find a dealership installed tracker...
  20. 2022 Ford Ranger Steering Clunk

I haven’t but that was after multiple mechanics took everything apart and told me nothing was wrong. Maybe one of these days when I get some time I’ll consider replacing it.
