I would personally lift or level it before you put wheels on it. The biggest tires you can put on a stock height ranger still look small in my opinion. I’d lift it to get some clearance for bigger tires. I have 17x9 +12 offset wheels with 255/80/17 (33s) with a 3.5” lift. The tires fill out the...
I always let the truck warm up for a few minutes before driving. Gives all the fluids a chance to start circulating. Thats what I was taught in the mechanic class I took in college years ago. Now it’s just become a habit.
I use Mobil 1 full synthetic. Idk how true it is but I’ve heard that once you start using synthetic, you shouldn’t change back to blend. Apparently it can cause issues?
Damn… Glad you made it. Considering how bad it sounds, the truck doesn’t look all that banged up. I was expecting it to look like a pancake after reading you rolled it 3 times.
Let us know how these work out. I stopped using metal cans a while ago and stick with plastic. After having 3 of my gas cans split from expanding and contracting with weather and altitude changes, I don’t trust them. Nothing like getting to work and finding 5 gallons of gas sloshing around in...
Wife and I both have rangers, hers is a 2019 fx4 XL and mine is a 2021 4x4 XLT. Only issues I’ve had with mine is suspension problems and worn ball joints due to incorrect parts being used on the original lift kit. I don’t blame the truck for that, this was incompetence on the mechanic’s behalf…...
Did you have any issues with the leaf springs hitting the exhaust tip? Thought about putting these on my truck but I’m torn between that or just getting a multipack spring set.
How do those tires handle in snow? I thought about getting those but went with Falken Wildpeaks instead because they’re 3 peak snow rated and a little heavier. Definitely noticed a difference with acceleration because of the weight but they do extremely well in snow and ice.
Personally, I avoid K&N products like the plague… When I was in college taking a heavy equipment tech course, they did testing on all the popular filter brands out there. K&N came in last every time when it came to actually filtering particles out.
I know that K&N is more focused on allowing...
What’s up with so many people having leaf spring issues with the rangers?! I literally drove my truck off an embankment last month and it was 3 feet in the air. Everything else was FUBAR’d but the leafs were fine lol just manufacturer defect or what?
I waited until the stock tires wore out before I lifted mine. It looks goofy enough with those little baby tires as it is lol the wife’s truck has a level kit with 265/70/17. Still looks small to me but that’s as big as you can go without removing crash bars. I have a 3.5” lift with 255/80/17s...
I have 56k on mine and no issues yet. I think any vehicle you buy these days is a “ticking time bomb” in one way or another. As long as you’re not driving with a lead foot and don’t overwork the transmission, I think you’ll be fine.
Idk why it’s so hard for people to do their jobs these days. Seems like quality control with everything is going down. I understand wiring can be meticulous (I’m an electrician) but you have to do your job… If I cut corners like that at work, buildings would burn down and people would get hurt...
