This morning on my way to work the “service traction control” warning popped up. Few minutes later my cruise control stopped working. When I got to the shop and put it in reverse to back into my parking spot, the “hill start assist disabled” light popped up.
Did some searching around here...
I run a Btech 50w in my truck, plenty of power. As far as ham vs gmrs, it really depends what YOU want to do with it. With gmrs being the most common type of setup people use, I went with that. I don’t need to be talking to people in Russia lol all the guys I train with who also have radios are...
I’ve heard it’s better to beg forgiveness than ask permission! Lol I did all my truck mods before we got married so she couldn’t say anything. Then she decided to get a ranger also… of course, I couldn’t let the wife drive a stock truck so I had to put a leveling kit, grill guard, bed cover, and...
You shouldn’t need a drop bracket just for a leveling kit. I put a 2.5” level on my wife’s truck and didn’t touch the differential. I did swap out the upper control arms though. I didn’t like the angle of the ball joints, they looked close to maxed out. I had some extra control arms that I...
I had a leveling kit on my truck for about a year with no issues until I decided to go with a full 3.5” lift. Wife’s truck currently has a leveling kit installed and no issues either. From what I’ve read, 2.5” leveling kit is as tall as you can go before you need to be concerned with CV angles...

These are what I used on my truck. I have smaller 3” lights though and they barely fit without hitting the windshield when I open the hood. 6” might be a little too big but you’d have to measure to be sure.
Sounds like our fleet mechanics at work… Every time they “fix” an issue, we get the trucks back with something else broken. They fixed my turn signal last week and now the flasher light bar on the roof doesn’t work… Idk where they find these guys but I’m pretty sure a bunch of gorillas could do...
You’re using an actual OBD2 scanner? You should be getting a specific code, not just a generic “emissions” issue. Could be a number of things… Mass airflow sensor, catalytic converter, gas hatch not sealing, EVAP system… You need to scan for an actual error code to find out what’s going on. That...
I did a fluid change, flushed the old stuff out, changed the filter, and did the differential fluid at 50k miles. Cost me about $1k for the dealership to do.
Not related to this post but I just took my wife’s truck to the dealership for what I suspect is the carrier bearing squeaking. Of course, they couldn’t replicate the noise and couldn’t find anything wrong with the truck. They said they did a full inspection and didn’t find anything. I’m going...
As far as size, idk. As far as brand, I’ve been pretty happy with my Falken wildpeaks so far. They ride pretty quiet for an AT tire and they seem to handle pretty well in all types of terrain. Selling point for me was that they were the only 3 peak snow rated AT tire that wouldn’t break the...
In the same boat. Mine is already paid off but we found out we have a baby coming soon. Debating whether to get a full size pickup or stick with the ranger. I LOVE my truck and don’t want to let it go, especially after putting so much time and money into getting it setup how I want...
If the fuse is blowing, there’s a good chance you have a short somewhere. Probably pinched the wire or scraped it when you put the bumper back on. If you have a multimeter, check for continuity on both the red and black to frame. Also red to black. Disconnect both wires before doing this.
If...
I went head on with a boulder a few months ago and had frame damage as well. It’s fixed, drives like normal, and can’t tell it ever happened. You’ll be fine.
I went with wildpeaks because they’re snow rated tires. During the winters we get lots of snow and ice where we live. They handle exceptionally well in those conditions. During the winter, I routinely drive through 2+ feet of snow and have never had to chain up since getting these tires. They...
Anyone know what type of glue/adhesive I can use that will stick leather to plastic? My dog decided to rip off the leather boot on the parking brake lever. It isn’t torn at all, he pulled it off all in one piece. I just need to glue the leather back to the plastic frame that clips into the...
Had the same problem and same setup. Have the alignment checked, that’s what my issue was.
265 width is gonna be a snug fit on stock wheels as it is. Any error in alignment is going to cause potential rubbing on coils or arms.
