So my half shaft was bad and it was the source of the leak. Confused on how that happened. They replaced the differential carrier a month ago. I don't know much about vehicles. Anyone an expert in this?

The noise went away with the differential carrier swap but the oil leaking is new. I read that those seals may break easy after resealing it.

Sigh. So there is aburning smell coming from the rear. I look at the tire wells and I see differential fluid leaking from the right rear. So now I have to take it back and have them fix it. They said I would fall under priority but will still take a couple days. We'll see

The whine i noticed after buying the ranger. You could easily hear it when going through a drive through. The noise im getting now is unusual and just showed up recently. The video i posted is a little soft compared to what i hear in the cab.

Did they give you an eta on yours? For me he said the part is back ordered but are working on getting it from another dealer.

Yeah its still under warranty. Im not really sure. I don't know much about vehicles. Truck is 4x4 though. Hardly ever use 4x4 though.

Yeah i had my mustang worked on from before and it had to wait 2 months for the part. But they didn't order anything yet for the truck. I feel like they put it aside because they don't know.

It should be easy to replicate the noise. It makes a sound as soon as you left off the gas. Finding where it comes from is what they are struggling with. I did suggest a few ideas from the other posts so hopefully they'll look into those.
