So my half shaft was bad and it was the source of the leak. Confused on how that happened. They replaced the differential carrier a month ago. I don't know much about vehicles. Anyone an expert in this?
Sigh. So there is aburning smell coming from the rear. I look at the tire wells and I see differential fluid leaking from the right rear. So now I have to take it back and have them fix it. They said I would fall under priority but will still take a couple days. We'll see
I just got gas and as I was driving away, the advanced trac service light came on along with precondition and abs. My steering got more stiff, still driveable. Got home, used my diagnostic reader, nothing showed up. I resetted the truck battery. The light was still came back on. So I called...
That's good you were able to get yours fixed. I just left a nasty gram review on their website. The rep hasn't updated me at all since I dropped it off

The whine i noticed after buying the ranger. You could easily hear it when going through a drive through.
The noise im getting now is unusual and just showed up recently. The video i posted is a little soft compared to what i hear in the cab.
Just got informed that it needs a differential carrier part. Which i think is where the ring gear set pinion is. I'm not sure, that's what it said when I googled it.
Yeah i had my mustang worked on from before and it had to wait 2 months for the part. But they didn't order anything yet for the truck. I feel like they put it aside because they don't know.
It should be easy to replicate the noise. It makes a sound as soon as you left off the gas. Finding where it comes from is what they are struggling with. I did suggest a few ideas from the other posts so hopefully they'll look into those.
