I also have Undercover But I think any folding cover can open and close the tailgate with the cover closed

Yeah we all have different needs. Mine sits out side ?. So it would be like leaving my garage door open if i wired that way.

Depends how you wire it. I installed a Lariat visor with home link (I think $60 at JunkYard)and tied it to ign hot line rather than the always on setup of the stock wiring. Actually stock comes on with interior lights - ie after you open the door.

You all do realize Ford trucks have Aluminum beds. And Front clip and tailgate... Of course it's going to dent.

Just get the ford part. The harness actually plugs into the back of the port.

Easy to remove, 4 bolts. Let the paint fully dry like days if not a week. The rubber boot is a 2 shot part with flexible rubber and hard plastic. I gouged my fresh paint upon reinstall.

I have AMP pwr steps and love them. But I bought used for under $400! But some competition in the market would be nice.
