Thank you very much! Sorry for skipping the niceties, I finally got the elbow and in got overzealous, and pulled the sensor out before even opening the elbow. I really appreciate the help, this thread was a huge help in getting the dp on and now hopefully getting the CEL to go away.
@Superdannyboy
I have the CVF downpipe and got a CEL. About to put on the elbow spacer from this thread. Did the (actual) middle restrictor fix your CEL? And did you face the elbow towards the turbo? And where did you put the copper washer, between the downpipe and elbow I assume?
Thank you!
Alright, finally got the lift done. The UCAs and front coilovers proved to be a much more difficult and time consuming task than expected, but once I got the first side done the other side went much easier. The rear blocks and shocks went on much easier and now the lift itself is done.
Here is...
Little update:
Driver's side is complete. Read here somewhere that it would be easier and lessen the risk of popping out the CV axles if you remove the lower control arm bolts to get in the new coilovers. That, in my opinion, was an absolute disaster. One of mine was cross threaded I think from...
Just ordered some Faction Fab spacers and Eibach rear blocks from @HotShotOffroad.
They sent me a Gift Card from my last purchase of the UCAs, and I was more than happy to use it on all this. Thank you again for everything!
Work will start very soon this week.
I actually decided on the SPC ones because of some of your other comments on here, and because of that I wanted to get them from y'all. Opened em up yesterday and I was very impressed with the quality of them.
Once I get her all buttoned up, I'll be sure to shoot over some pictures, that would...
Quick update:
Ordered some SPC UCAs from @HotShotOffroad who somhow managed to get them delivered overnight for FREE and with amazing customer service because I wanted to make sure they were in stock and they answered their Live Chat immeidately outside of their normal hours.
Work is sending...
Alright everyone,
So I originally changed the fluid and pan to get rid of the clunky shifting. After taking her out for a spin (and having the clunking noticebaly absent) I checked the fluid and it was high, at about 3 and a half on the dipstick. Pulled out a bit more, went for another spin...
Is there a way to monitor transmission fluid temp?
Pulled up the live monitoring and Transmission Fluid Temp in the PCM only shows "NO FAULT"
Thank you!
They did, they said they QA/QC'd all their current stock, and the instructions were all good. I didn't order the pan direct from them so they think I had an old stock that was misprinted and it has obviously since been addressed.
They apologized for the inconvenience and offered me discounts on...
Well, now that I have my transmission pan issue mostly sorted, I couldn't help but throw one of the steelie and big tires on just to see how she looked.
Keep in mind this is with no lift, just the front end jacked up and suspension drooping.
I want to get my transmission pan 100% sorted...
Phil,
I am eternally grateful for this advice. The last sentence there really drove it home in a "what do I have to lose" way. Sprayed out the hole with an air nozzle, and went for broke. New bolt threaded in like a dream, and took the 89 in lbs like it was nothing.
Ford only sells the studs...
So I've done a little digging on threaded inserts and I'm torn between the keyed inserts and timeserts. If this was my old busted 2003 F150 Triton I would probably just dp the ziptie trick and be happy, but I want to be a little more cautious with my Ranger.

I followed @Old Red Replacement guide to the install and he even thought that 18-22 ft-lbs was overkill. I should've listened.
Either way, I'm glad that you will be able to avoid this!
Well, chased the threads with a rethreading tap and there are definitely SOME threads but the bolt is uncomfortably loose in the hole. I'm at a crossroads. Fresh bolts won't arrive until Monday to actually give it a proper test. Still feel uneasy trying it out and am just leaning towards doing...
I shot them an email and attached the pictures of the Ford manual, the included instructions and their websites instructions. Just to give them a heads up. Refund would be nice but in my opinion not required. I had access to the manuals and should have known better anyway.
Anyway, woke up early...
I ran all the way to the garage to idiot-check myself. ?
These are from my instructions.
Still not an excuse, I knew 18-22 ftlbs was ridiculous but tried it anyway.
@P. A. Schilke thank you for your insight. Was honestly hoping that you'd chime in on this topic. Side-note your comments on this forum have been invaluable, and a great learning experience.
@RangerBill Pulling up the manual was the first thing I did before posting here. Lesson learned the hard...
