Spent the weekend camping in Juniper Springs Rec Area and dispersed at Ocala National Forest. Enjoyed our first nights in the CVT Mt Shasta. Some mild off-roading was done.
Just got back from a weekend trip with the family to Ocala National Forest. Spent one night in Juniper Springs Rec Area and one night dispersed camping in Hopkins Prairie.
I went the route of changing out the complete housing to the DIODE DYNAMIC PROs in Yellow. Install wasn't too tough, but not as simple as the STAGE 3 video if you have your crash bars still in place. I posted a thread of my lights if you search under my name. I can highly recommend these.
I picked recently a CVT Mt. Shasta roof top tent. This model is the Pioneer edition in Earth Green. One thing I noticed is my Pioneer came with the telescoping ladder, which previously only came on the Summit editions.
Halloween weekend will be her maiden trip to Ocala National Forest. So far...
My previous cars were a 2013 Subaru WRX Hatchback & 2016 Subaru WRX STI. Getting the truck I thought I would have something I wouldn’t be throwing money at. I’ve always been a car guy, so the truck would be a nice change.
Yet here I am registered to another forum and look at countless...
My initial plan was the RCI, but I liked the look of the KB and height of 10”. Looking over everything my brother and I came to the conclusion that bolting it to the bed is our best bet. Plus I’ll feel better than using the no drill clips.
I was skeptical about it at first until I saw a member on here with one. I’m waiting to hear back from him on how he came about mounting it. At this point there’s nothing I can do but attempt to mount it. I figured I could buy some steel or aluminum flat bar from a hardware store and use that as...
Here’s mine for reference. Now this wasn’t always the case when I first bought my truck. My first couple fill ups the fuel light would come on at 50 miles and the needle was either on or one time in front of the 1/4 hash mark. As you can see I’m in the middle of empty and 1/4 now with 48 miles...
Here’s the clamping area I will have since it’s the longer rack. As you can see it’s just behind where the pinch weld ends. So leaves me that small lip to clamp onto.
Thanks for the insight Phil.
I may have bit off more than I could chew. Since this rack is the 58” meant for a long bed, it appears the clamping barely comes in contact with the vertical pinch weld in the bed. I believe that by not grabbing the pinch weld, I would be limited to the grabbing the...
Good afternoon Phil, thanks for chiming in. Would the pinch be the area in the center of the bed box or the lip that curves down that is covered by the plastic ribbed side rail?
The manufacturer sends a picture showing how it is to be mounted, but that small amount of lip does not seem sturdy...
Picked up a KB Voodoo 58” x 10” hi rack with the no drill clips for mounting. I see how the instructions state to mount the rack, using the no drill clip against the rim of the bed frame.
Is that small bit of frame edge enough for the rack to hold? Anyone have a similar rack/mounting set up?
