This was on SW 8th street heading west towards Naples. A couple miles west of the Miccosukee Hotel & Casino there’s a crossover of the canal. The attached photo is looking east on said levee towards the Hotel.
My brother helped me install a Gator SRX roll-up tonneau cover. Instructions were a complete mess since it came with three different sheets, with some being Ranger specific. Having the rack bolted to the truck this involved removal and re-installation of the KBVoodoo Rack and CVT tent.
I don’t have any of the tent open, but I took these photos today. As you can see even on a Power Wagon, this is a very large tent. It seems like a pain to open/close, but it’s no different than my Mt. Shasta. Doable with a single person, but much quicker/easier with an extra pair of hands.
I have yet to do any sort of off-roading that the FX4 package seemed to be required. I do not plan on changing my suspension components anytime soon(though a 2.5" leveling kit is on order). Figured the FX4 package should be enough for the time being. Figured I would get my camping setup to where...
My brother has the XL mounted on an RCI Rack on his Ram Power Wagon. He slept up there for a weekend a month or so ago with his girlfriend and two kids. Both children a little older than your group. He says he has enough space, but he did add extra padding to help the unsupportive mattress. He...
And yet the alternator is still mounted too low. I understand there isn't much space anywhere else for it, but for me it's the biggest drawback in the 2.3 4 cylinder. I'm worried about even the mildest creek crossing thinking I may be dead in the water with the alternator mounted that low.
I live an hour from the ocean, so I’m not sure how much salt I’d really need to contend with where I stay. Plus I don’t frequent the mountain bike trail by the bay that often anymore.
Next time I give her a wash, I’m going to try and scrub it a bit more.
Gave her a wash and heard crackling around the rear Ford emblem when drying the truck. The area around the lettering looks to be cracking. I can only guess from the strong South Florida sun. Not a good sign when the company logo cannot last.
Also noticed the trim on the door is turning white on...
Took a solo overnight trip out to Ocala National Forest over the weekend. Mountain biker at Santos Mountain Bike Trails during the day, did a little off-roading in the afternoon while avoiding the deer hunters, and camped over at Juniper Springs Rec Area. The deer hunting season was the only...
Things I would like to see with the new truck:
1. Larger fuel tank, at least 21 gallon minimum.
2. Rear seat that doesn't completely fold up/down. Preferably something allows you to have a single passenger, but still able to lift the seat up to stack items behind the driver.
3. Manual...
I do not tow a trailer or have towed anything as of yet. Saying that, this little truck has some power. I hauled a bunch of stuff from home depot the other day in the bed, on top of the three adults in the truck, and the steel rack a/ CVT tent mounted on top. She did not skip a beat.
Trip to Home Depot to buy supplies to fix the roof on a shed. That’s four sheets of plywood, one sheet of Durock, four packs of shingles, and a roll of tar paper. The two large PVC pipes were for a water storage system my brother wants to make for showering while camping.
