Here are photos from last weeks camping trip. As you can see the passenger side can be used as an entry or exit, but I would need to climb in using the rear wheel. Facing the tent entry to the rear would allow that opening to be towards the cab. I would then need to see how much space is left...
I have a Mt. Shasta, and I have her opening to my drivers side. Was just preference at the time, but lately I have been considering moving her to open to the rear.
1. To see if it'll kill off some whistling I am getting on the highway at 80MPH, which I believe may be air getting into the cover...
Once zippered up, my tent comes with two cross straps, and I have tightened them the most I feel comfortable. I even loosened and re-screwed their attachment point under the tent to allow a more snug feel. I hope this helps with some of the noise.
During the return trip my brother thought I...
I'm in the same boat as you! I didn't have the whistle show up until I mounted the tent on the rack. Very noticeable when driving 80mph on I-75 to and from the Ocala area. I'm wondering if its air getting trapped and pulled into the tent cover.
I understand that there is also the added benefit when desert running amongst other trucks. I was just commenting/agreeing when it came to the part that Mishimoto stated, "With the correct sealing procedures, it effectively increases the depth of water crossings your Ford can ford. Since the...
That's my dilemma with the snorkel, for water fording it's completely useless. If I have to worry about the intake sucking up water, that means my alternator is already submerged, and by then I am screwed anyways. And looking in the engine bay, I can't see how relocating the alternator is even...
I live in South Florida, I would like to make it out of the state without having to stop in central Florida for fuel. Plus with my brother and I planning a camping trip to Utah in the near future, I would like the added capacity for the long haul.
I too agree with the statement made above by Landis, upgrade your stock fogs to Diode Dynamics. I went with the PRO model in yellow and they are extremely bright. Went camping this weekend, and arrived at the campsite around 11:00pm. My brother said I lit everything up with my foglights the...
The family and I spent the weekend camping at Bear Head Hammock Campground in the Withlacoochee State Forest. The spots are too close to a main road, so you can hear traffic at all hours of the night. The early morning fog was fantastic.
Can’t say enough about the CVT MT. Shasta. Even in 46...
Changed my oil yesterday afternoon for the first time at 4,546 miles. Oil life monitor still showed 48% at reset. Went with the Motorcraft 910 filter and Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 which is currently at $22 for a 5 quart jug at Walmart. Ultra is currently at $21 for the same jug if ordered online(no...
The bad(my opinion):
•Wish the rear seat backing folded all the way down. Under seat storage would be nice.
•Wish the fuel tank was a bit larger if not at least similar to a Tacoma(21gal.)
•Wish there was a manual transmission option like the Tacoma and upcoming Bronco.
•The transmission does...
I went with the KBVoodoo Modular 10” height by 58” length. It came with no drill clips, but I opted on drilling through the top of the bed rails. I felt it was the more secure form of mounting since the clips wouldn’t have the best area to grab onto since I had the longer rack.
Spent Halloween weekend in a CVT Mt. Shasta. A two person tent that my fiance and I had more than enough space in. The small rings on the base when open make it a good spot to hang camping lights and/or a mosquito killer. Side pockets make it convenient for storing phone, wallet, keys, etc. If...
I would have loved to get into a GFC, but the wait was the biggest factor for me. Ended up going with a KBVoodoo Rack and CVT Mt. Shasta. Hopefully in the future I can get one of these.
