Finished the build out in my Super Pacific X1 camper. Total cost for materials was just under $300. Had to buy a pneumatic Arrow staple gun; my hands couldnāt take any more manual stapling.
My brother is a woodworker and he is going to make me a āchuck boxā to house the camp stove and...
Iāve been a Ford guy since I was 8. My third grade class took a field-trip to tour Ford in 1968. We started at the Headquarters in Dearborn and then went to the steel mill at the Rouge Plant where Ford used to make their own steel. Seeing those white hot ingots get smashed into shape was...
Started the interior build out of my camper. Tomorrow I'll finish the rails between the ribs, and Saturday I'll do the plywood and carpet. Eventually it will have a U-shaped bench like a dinette booth. With the roof moved forward over the cab and the tent popped up, there is 8.5 feet of head...
My only regret about seeing Queen is that it was at the Aladin Hotel in Las Vegas.
Shows there always sucked because it was too small a venue, with terrible acoustics, and the bands just wanted to play a quick show and get to the casinos.
One of our neighbors has a disabled placard. Her disability? Bi-polar! How that prevents her from walking is beyond me. Illegitimate parking spot use always makes me think of my cousin, whom was born with MS, and has spent his whole life in a wheelchair. It wouldn't be fair to him.
A coworker in the Air Force in 1977, was from Spokane and he used to watch Styx practice in a neighborās garage; imagine that!
My first concert was Peter Frampton with Gary Wright at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Had to buy the Comes Alive album of course; it was the law then.
Uriah Heap was always a...
I drove tractor-trailers, and a literal āfarmā tractor pulling bomb trailers in the Air Force. I was trained how to properly use mirrors to back into parking spots; have backed in ever since. While test driving a new Ranger back in the 80ās, I backed the truck into the dealers lot using the...
I was concerned about being able to do my own maintenance on a new truck. My 1988 was a piece of cake. What Iām finding is that my 2021 is still a mechanical vehicle that I can confidently wrench on, it just has a lot more integrated electrical crap.
Got a super inexpensive HP laptop and a OBDLink. Already got FORScan loaded up. Used it to disable that annoying double honk and used the Service Procedure feature to bleed the ABS. Much firmer brake pedal now!
So being new to the 4x4 club, in conditions like that, do you just see how it goes in 2 High first and then use 4 High if it's slipping? Or do you just put it in 4 High and go?
I watched the walk through video and gotta say, thatās the cleanest electrical system Iāve ever seen. The gasoline heater is also first rate. I just wonder how many they have sold, cause you can buy a lot of different RV types with much more room for $100k.
Apologies if Iāve already posted these; I get confused with the Super Pacific forums sometimes. This was a nice campsite at The Upper Coffee Pot on the Henryās Fork of the Snake River near Ashton, ID.
The desert is actually quite nice if you get away from Phoenix. Weāre in Vail, AZ just to the south east of Tucson. The elevation is 3,600 feet, so 106 is a really hot day. We get snow every 3rd year or so. Big temp difference between night and day. Also, the desert is very green here...
Very Cool Dave, so happy for you
Very cool Dave. My dad was a rough carpenter and there is nothing better than seeing a load of lumber become a house in just a few short days. Have fun with the interior. We just did a whole house remodel in 2021, and the choices and decisions were never ending.
Yes, they were hard copies. My mom got them for my future when I was four back in 1963. I remember we got an annual volume in the mail every year with updated information. Don't know what happened to them.
I do remember when my grandfather swore the Capital of Pennsylvania was Pittsburg...
I know this is an old post to comment on, but damn, are those encyclopedias? Anyone under 40 wouldnāt know what those are used for. We used to have Britanica, New World And Word Book.
