Wow! Glad you got home OK. Your story just convinced me to take my torque wrench in my tool kit on Tuesday. Iām heading from Tucson to Portland to pick up my Super Pacific pop-up tent camper. Just got new tires and donāt want them to go off by themselves. Thanks.
Water intrusion could be of concern. My aunt had a Mercury Cougar with a functional hood scoop in the 80ās. When I drove it through a rain storm, it started to miss and run like crap until it dried out. Granted that was long ago when we had distributors.
Otherwise, Iāll agree with the post...
Great pictures. So cool to see it from ground level. I started my flying career in 1998, doing air tours over Grand Canyon and Monument Valley with Scenic Airlines. I first flew Cessna Turbo 210s and later moved up to their Twin Otters. The Twin Otters were like the Ranger of airplanes...
I had the start/stop thump, and it was the one thing I hated about this truck. The video was extremely helpful. I used the paint pen, got a new boot (the small end goes aft), new bolts (the factory bolts were way too long), and Motorcraft long life grease. This grease is very thick and...
Thereās another grommet in the bottom of the bin under the right-rear seat (Super Cab) where the jack is stored. I used that to run a huge cable to the truckās battery for an EcoFlow alternator charger.
The firewall grommet was too hard to get at due to the ABS lines.
Wow, great forum. I just looked at my fan wire harness hose-support and sure enough, itās broken. Glad I found it before it caused issues.
Update, ordered a silicone hose with a 90 degree bend. Cut to fit, metal hose clamps, and zip ties. I doubt the zip ties will last more than a year...
I gave up my bought new 1988 Ranger XLT, V6, 5 Speed, RWD, 6 foot bed with 250k miles. The aerodynamic and size difference between the 1988 and 2021 is amazing. I got $3k for the old guy.
