So I read through most of this thread, is there any point in doing this with the XL cluster? If I read right I wouldn't be able to tell which mode I'm in without upgrading to the XLT cluster.
The 2019 and 2020 StartX modules are different parts, I think the 2019 uses triple lock to remote start. Might be able to find a different brand that does lock, unlock, lock.
It's the module, if you double press the Ranger lock button the horn will honk, single press it won't, so as long as you get a remote start that doesn't need consecutive presses of the lock button it won't honk.
If the module you buy uses 3 presses of the lock button to start the horn will honk. The one I got for my Ranger uses lock, unlock, lock so no horn honk.
