  1. Locking Rear Axel

City limits of Lubbock to the city limits of Denver is 8 hours of driving at the speed limit. No problem. I do it frequently. And if I run into snow it’s usually around Amarillo. Of course if I want snow to ski in I head west and in 4 hours I’m in Ruidoso.
  2. Bilstein 6112 on 2020 FX4

The 6112 is a larger diameter shock than the 5100. Because of this; the stock coil spring will not fit around it. It is sold with replacement springs, but the upper stock components are reused. This means your stock strut assembly will need to be disassembled. This would also be true if you...
  3. Bilstein 6112 on 2020 FX4

I ordered 5100s as a kit for the front and the back many months ago. Edit: I ordered on February 19, 2021. I was sent the rears, but the fronts have been (and still are) on back order. I got tired of waiting, so I ordered and installed the 6112. I’m still waiting for the 5100 fronts. When they...
  4. Bilstein 6112 on 2020 FX4

I just used a pair of pliers to move the retention ring to the next cutout, then the next.
  5. Bilstein 6112 on 2020 FX4

I have exactly the same setup, except that I set it to 0.80" and changed the tires to 265/70R17.

  8. Leveled Ranger

This is my point. I agree that there is “rake,” but how much? Here is a picture of my truck loaded down so much in the back that the headlights are pointed up in the trees. To me it looks the same.
  9. Locking Rear Axel

It's true, it can get you unstuck. But if used on ice it will provide extra slip.
  10. Leveled Ranger

I like that pic! I wish mine was a Super Cab, but... Family.
  11. Locking Rear Axel

The locking rear differential is unlikely to help you in snow country. Maybe in limited circumstances it might help you to get unstuck, but it would not be engaged in icy or snowy conditions. In fact, it will probably make you slip more if used on ice. It is really good for pulling a boat up a...
  12. Leveled Ranger

It’s not stock. Here is the other side, in case there is some issue with the camera on my iphone.
  13. Mpg on my new tremor

I get much better mileage when I drive in Oklahoma. Most stations in Texas are 15% ethanol. Most stations in Oklahoma offer ethanol free fuel. When you drive ethanol free, you get noticeably better mileage.
  14. Leveled Ranger

Is being level an actual thing you measure, or is it a perception? This is my truck. Is it level or not?
  15. Buying a Ranger? Check for the middle tie downs

I have a bed extender in my Ranger that is used mostly to keep things, like my tool bag, at the back of the bed. Today I have my extender removed, so I was going to tie my tool bag down, and there was no place to tie it! I guess I’m gonna have to do something about that.
  16. Toe wear noted on tires - 26k miles

Get it on a lift and start pulling on suspension parts. Find out if there is any play. A bushing could be damaged. Is there any damage? Maybe something is bent. Although 26k miles is not a lot, it is enough for something to wear out.
  17. Holes in your Ranger rocker panels?

Maybe it's for weight savings! ?
  18. Kirkland brand oil?

I use Kirkland. However, I am a frequent changer of oil.
  19. Shielding fell off of truck

It also might have come off of someone else's Ford.
  20. Shielding fell off of truck

It might be this. Shield runs all along the bottom of the truck above the exhaust.
