It must be that the nitrogen is contained in that top half, then it can be replaced with a top half that has a remote reservoir. Seems like a lot of trouble. I don’t think this swap is something you can do yourself without special tools. Or maybe it really is so modular that you can just swap...
…but how? The shocks are different designs. One is emulsion and the remote reservoir moves the nitrogen into the reservoir tube. It doesn’t make sense that you could just add a reservoir cylinder to an emulsion shock.
