Oh yeah. The wife. I think I’m way over my limit. I haven’t had to explain my new tires yet. I got Hankook DynaPro AT2 in 265/70R17 and she didn’t even notice that the M changed into a 2!
The LT version of the Hankook tires are almost 1/2” greater diameter than the standard load rated tire that is the spare. Perhaps more than a few miles might start to cause issues. It will probably trigger the traction control and ABS to shut-off.
It should, but it seems it gets out of sync every now and then. I travel on planes a lot. After a couple of months of 4-5 days parked at the airport each week, I need to charge it.
The Ranger has a variable alternator and just because the engine is running doesn’t mean that the battery is charging. The BCM and PCM control when the alternator sends charging voltage to the battery. The battery is rarely kept at a 100% charge.
The battery is low and needs to be recharged. When charging, connect the negative wire to a chassis ground, not the negative battery terminal. Otherwise the BMS will not detect the charge and the BCM will continue to prevent the auto start stop feature from operating. See video...
I don't mind the raked look. To be honest, this looks level to me. I haven't aligned it yet and I'm still deciding if I want to keep this height. I did it to mimic the Tremor stance, which is advertised as 1" over stock. So my shocks are adding 8/10ths of an inch and the tires the additional...
Hankook Dynapro AT2 using Bilstein 6112 front coils and shocks set to 0.80" higher than stock. I also used these tires with the stock suspension. Either way; there is lots of clearance.
I have read that before. However, they redesigned the knuckles for all of the 2021 Ford Rangers. Someone in marketing grabbed on to that and ran with it. Even to describe it as "Lifted" is a stretch. AND to claim the tires are 32" is rounding up. I have inspected the knuckles on the Tremor...
Is this a new Ranger or preowned?
If this is new, then there is a big problem. Are you waiting to make you first payment? If so, then you need to send a payment by certified mail to the dealership.
If this is preowned, then it’s an issue that needs to be cleared up soon, but laws vary a lot in...
I don’t think that is in reference to the capability, but refers to having a manufacturer warranty with the tune. In other words, there are other FPP products sold that specify the use of tires up to 265/70R17 so the published features don’t include larger tire sizes.
