  1. TSB 20-2218 Crew Cab - Folding Rear Seat Backrest Assembly Excessive Latching Effort

TSB 20-2218 Summary This article supersedes TSB 19-2146 to update the vehicle model years affected, Service Procedure and Part List. Issue: Some 2019-2020 Ranger Crew Cab vehicles may exhibit excessive latching effort when returning the rear seat backrest assembly to the upright position...
  2. Extra Bed Lights Tie in Location

I have a Lariat SuperCab. I am adding LED light strips to the underside of the bed rails for extra lighting in the bed. There are many ways to control the added lights, but I want them to function the same as the factory cargo lights on the back of the cab. To power those lights the factory...
  3. Whine Noise

I agree, this is not dead on to the OP's description, but a transmission whine noise none the less so I thought I would post just in case the OP or anyone else needs it. Secondly, it really only applies to a pretty small number of Rangers. I agree, this is not dead on to the OP's...
  4. Whine Noise

There is a service bulletin on this topic dated Aug 25, 2020. It is bulletin 20-2198. It is not for all 5G Rangers, but your may fall into the date range. I think it would have to be a pretty early 2020 to have this apply. 10R80 Transmission – High-Pitched Whine - Built On 21-Oct-2019 And...
  5. TSB 20-2277 2019-2020 Ranger - Shudder/Vibration When Accelerating From A Stop

Sorry about that, here is the whole TSB with the procedure.
  6. Left DRL LED keeps turning off

I agree, possibly something hosed up in the Body Control Module. I took a quick look at the schematic and each headlight / DRL has a separate unique wire that runs back to the BCM. There is no splice or tee in the circuit for the DRL's. (Left side shown below, right side is similar) So with...
  7. Driveshaft Phasing

    From Ford Aug 21, 2020...
  8. Ecoboost Emblem on Tailgate (Not used anymore)

I found this little oddity today for anyone that is interested. It sounds like a lot of people remove or at least relocate this emblem anyway. Mine was built is June and does have the emblem. I dare say I could really care less one way or the other. Mine will still be on there when it goes to...
  9. Need help identifying this connector....

Ford (Motorcraft) offers most of the connectors that they use with a short pigtail of wire on it for repair purposes. Personally I find the wires that they attach pretty clunky, but I guess that they do work (kinda). Depending on how OCD I am being I will pop the connector apart, de-pin it, and...
  10. Vibration at take off

Ford now has a TSB for the "vibration at take off" Aug 20 2020 0726 - 2019-2020 Ranger - Shudder/Vibration When Accelerating From A Stop See TSB: 20-2277 for details.
  11. 2020 Ranger!!! Waiting.........

Cool to see it in the factory. I wonder why it is taking so long to get to the dealer when the travel distance is so short. Mine was built 6/11, released by Ford on 6/12, the dealer called me to pick it up on 6/16, I drove it off the lot on 6/18. My dealer is in Cleveland, three hours away from...
  12. Ranger Keypad

Hello, The way it works on an F-150 is shown in the schematic below. As you can see, the keypad has 4 wires that go to connector C2280E on the body control module. I looked at that same connector on the Ranger and the connector does not have these pins for the connections. Actually C2280E on a...
  13. Horns / Wiring

Hello, The Blue/White wire (CRH02) sends a ground (negative) signal to the coil of the horn relay. The positive side of the coil is fed with 12v positive at all times, and the circuit is completed by sending a ground (negative) signal when the horn button is pressed. There is no reason that...
  14. Horns / Wiring

It depends on how you want to wire your supplemental horn relay. The original Ford wiring sends a ground signal to the Body Control Module (BCM) when you press the horn button. The BCM then sends a ground signal to the Horn Relay. The Horn Relay then sends a 12v signal to the horn. The output...
  15. Schematic and harness for headlights

This is for the left side, the right side is similar. I do not know about any extension for this, I guess you could make one or tap the original harness. I would be careful since the body control module powers the lights, it probably wouldn't like to see an abnormally large load on the circuit.
  16. Tailgate Letters

Put blue letters on my blue Ranger today. I like the subtle look I guess.
