Ecoboost Emblem on Tailgate (Not used anymore)

I found this little oddity today for anyone that is interested. It sounds like a lot of people remove or at least relocate this emblem anyway. Mine was built is June and does have the emblem. I dare say I could really care less one way or the other. Mine will still be on there when it goes to the crusher unless somebody else has urge to remove it.

I remove as many emblems that are stuck on paint as possible because I hate cleaning polish from around them. Less crap to hit with DA and eat up expensive foam pads.

Interesting. I wonder if it was a cost cutting change, a supply issue, or just a design change? For all those people that have removed it hope they kept it in a drawer or something. There might be a market on eBay for newer Ranger buyers that want them. Not that they would be worth a lot but a few extra bucks is a few extra bucks.

Just call it turbo or boost.
No badge. Easier to wash.

I think I'll look for a circa 1985 badge that says "fuel injected". Or maybe "power steering".

I removed mine along with the keypad on the door. I don't like anything on the paint.

I actually have a really nice, chromed script plate which reads... "Turbo-Superchanged". It is about a foot long, and haven't any desire to install it. I bought it to put on a 1962 Corvair Spider, and just didn't drill the necessary holes. Now it is sort of a keepsake!

I'll probably end up removing mine the next time I wash it.

If I were going to replace it with something it would be something like this, but would be in place of the Ford emblem instead.
