Are you nuts? Uhhhhhh the 2.3T is actually really badass. Crazy good power and mpg, no oil consumption, very high longevity and durability. Toyota, Jeep, etc. are all garbage in comparison to the Cleveland 2.3T. The fuel and water in the oil is absolutely normal for a turbo in the winter. Do...
I found the auto engine stop option in the dash menu and turned it off and it looks like the update completed! Engine ran the whole time this time for it to actually finish.
I just got the email from Ford saying that the synch 3 has a free navigation update. While doing the update, I normally leave the engine running with the keys inside, I have done this before no problem. This time the engine has turned off twice by itself after idling for 20 or 30 minutes, this...
Yeah there is a "pressure relief valve" on the rubber housing that will start gushing when the bushing is full. Just wipe off the excess when it stops. This is also how you "flush" the bushing with fresh grease the next time.
Now how did you do that without breaking the plastic like I did ??
And yeah even the Mevotech Supreme is a big upgrade from stock, as your comparison shows!
There are threads from others with broken sway bar links, just checkout the “similar threads” at the end of the page. It does appear to be correlated with lift/level kit in the front. I have ESP but did not want to fight the dealer about it and wanted to upgrade rather than replace with oem.
I...
Do a Royal Purple Max Clean fuel injector cleaning and/or the fuel filter. I was noticing surging at moderate speed at 65k and thought it was the EGR DPFE valve people are talking about, but the injector cleaner actually cleared it up! I'm replacing the EGR anyway though.
Yes that is freaking plastic, in direct path of a twisting suspension spring (sway bar), on a TRUCK, on an OFF ROAD trim. Seriously what the fuck did I just discover, I still can't believe it. A $50 set would be an upgrade. The $100 TTX set is an overkill upgrade.
The swap is easy too, and hour job for both sides. This should be a ubiquitous basic recommended upgrade for any Ranger as a handling upgrade. I'm still dumbfounded at the plastic and the noticeable swaybar improvement with the new ones on!!!
Easy. Position the studs at a good angle, and a pry bar to rotate the sway bar end down and get the nuts threaded then torque.
Seriously though after seeing the flimsy stock bar links basically any Ranger owner could stiffen up roll or be tougher off road with any kind of moderate aftermarket...
Yeah so the stock design sway bar link is just embarrassing for an “off road” trim. The ends are fucking PLASTIC with no metal connection between the bar and end cups. The swap was easy, wheel off, nuts off, pry bar under the strut to take the twist off the link, link out, and swap. Torque to...
Got the new links in. Gonna swap them today. Procedure looks like a piece of cake with the dual ball joint design the wheels don’t need to be on the ground for final torque.

Yeah the stock design is/was clearly a budget piece. That should be a steel end and cup. Damn bean counters!
Mevotech TTX honestly look pretty good. All steel/welds and oversize ball and cup.
