Nice work! I would’ve kept the B&O like you did, but five years ago there were not as many of the custom integration tools to make it happen easily. Your path is much more affordable but my path had the benefit of getting rid of the fake engine noise and all factory eq.
I tried the quick reset by flashing the lights and foglight button and whatever, didn't work, but I did somehow reset my TPMS sensors in the process
I tried to BMS reset service procedure in Forscan, and it wouldn't work, kept saying could not retrieve BMS configuration. So instead I...
I’m going to call this a nice engine wear upgrade for cold weather. In the summer my catch can was nearly bone dry. Now after just a month or two of cold starts I emptied my catch can and poured out like a quarter cup of gas! By trapping and pouring it off surely it will maintain lower fuel...
I will try my basic scanner for ford tune flashing and try that easy procedure. Gotta look forward, any other brand this would be a dealer mandatory thing.
And sure enough, swapped new battery in, and my ASS is instantly working again! No Forskin or other settings needed, just the battery swap and it's back. Looks like the life on the AGM/ASS is right about 5 years.
Put a Costo Interstate H7 AGM in today, great deal compared to the parts stores or even Walmart.
The factory battery is very plain and only 800cca compared to the 850cc Interstate AGM.
Oh great point, why didn't I think of Costco! Forgot they have Interstate. That's almost half price compared to a Duralast Platinum or other store brand AGM.
You made the right choice.
My ASS hasn't activated in months, but I have no errors, which is what set me down this path! Back of the mind is good at sensing new patterns, or lack thereof.
Yes I grew up thinking Interstate, and Optima, was high-end. I must admit 15-20 years later I'm not sure that to be true anymore. That's why I'm asking!
Yikes no thanks. You get what you pay for, and Amazon knockoff brands have been nothing but junk to me.
Our factory AGM batteries for stop/start have an 8 year warranty? I don't believe that.
I had an OE factory Motorcraft battery fully die and strand me with little warning on my 02 4.6L Mountaineer, it was at the 8 year mark. Not interested in repeating that ever again ? I'm approaching the 5-year age mark next March on my 19 Ranger and I like to replace my battery around that time...
I believe the preferred window is June/July through October. It's open as early as April or May but muddy and problematic in some spots. Dry it's a breeze and a lot of fun!
Rampart is a dirt road any car can pass. The exception being the fun, optional, detours where even the Ranger can three wheel. I've done them all, piece of cake in this rig.
