Who doesn't need a truck? And suspension sag under load compared to stock for a light duty midsize Ranger is your suspension performance metric, correct?
Exactly this. Year round the only load in my bed is camping or sports equipment annd mountain bike and occasionally the low tongue load of a small camper. Maybe once every year or two I load the bed up with Home Depot materials. I’m looking for a better ride and increased off road travel over...
Headlights are a piece of cake to adjust with a phillips screwdriver, who on earth would not readjust them after a level?
A level does not hit mpg.
A level does not add driveshaft vibration.
There is sooooo much more in Wyoming than Yellowstone. More remote unpopulated rough country than anyone could imagine. Go wander the forests and steal ideas from the organized Jeep trail off road tour groups.
AFIK from working on past vehicles like my old Tbird the shop manuals tend to say to use any HD grease like you would use in zerk fittings for grease. I have not checked the Ranger factory manual but would definitely recommend doing so. It's free and posted here on the forum.
I'm happy with the Ford tuned Fox 2.0, I'm not touching them until they are clearly worn out / blown or leaking. I agree with the wide skepticism of the Fox recommended 50k mile rebuild.
I do have upgrade "the itch" again approaching year 6 with my Ranger and I think I'm going to slap on ICON...
yeah I off-road a few times a year. If you think about it even just highway miles and city driving beats the piss out of shocks, too, just at lower travel.
I have about 75k miles on my FP Fox 2.0 and they are just starting to feel a little wallowy. No leaking or any other issues. I think it’s time for a rebuild on them but I’m not in a rush.
Thank you for the positive report! I have been considering the ICON or OME leafs, and UCAs, to upgrade my Fox 2.0 setup. The only thing stopping me from OME is the extreme rear lift without any weight.
This is bizarre and sad to see. It's honestly a WTF head scratcher. Never seen anything like it. And $5 says the dealer won't be your friend on sorting it out.
That is interesting! What's wrong with the zerks?
I've been looking for new UCAs to replace my stock ones and I see there are so many options now ranging from suspiciously cheap $120 ones to absurdly expensive $1200 ones.
Go for it! The BITOG cult loves 5w40, especially for keeping higher viscosity later through the OCI.
Since Ford recommends 5w50 for racing in the mustang and RS 2.3, don't hesitate and go 5w40 or 5w50. Worst case scenario your mpg goes down 0.1% from the thicker oil. More likely scenario it...
So did you get the Grimm UCAs?
The price is good on the Rough Country UCAs but it says it’s for 3.5” lift. I wonder if they would still work well for the 2.5” leveling.
I watched a few video reviews and have been eying the KO3s for my next set of tires. They have some legit looking design improvements.
I have gone through two pairs of Grabber ATX in 265/70r17 and they have been awesome. I think they are better/cheaper than KO2s but I don't think they are as...
FPP Tune & 91 octane since new, along with 31.5" tires and 2.5" level. I live at ~6000ft elevation and have 76k miles. I just put in the FP upgraded cold plugs and it did restore some responsiveness, I think the tune had burned down the factory plugs sooner than scheduled.
lowest I've ever got...
For what it’s worth my 2019 works perfectly with the newest iPhone. I’m intrigued by an aftermarket solution of one works and is more modern though.
