If the OEM offered a feature to permanently disable the auto start/stop, then they're not allowed to use the auto start/stop during their EPA fuel economy tests.
As others have posted in this thread, you can buy a $100 start/stop eliminator that takes about 10 minutes to do.
I beg to differ. TCB's are not VIN specific because it is a recommended procedure for the dealer to follow on common complaints if the vehicle shows described symptoms. Sometimes, there will be other eligibility restraints associated with the TSB, but not always.
For the case of this...
I think there's a lot of confusion between a recall vs TSB, even the dealers usually don't know what they're talking about. I called up my closest dealer and asked their service dept whether they could perform the transmission TSB to my truck. The following is the quick convo:
"Hi, there's a...
FX4 vs non-FX4 isn't going to make that much of a difference in the snow imo. The traction and stability control systems will brake individual wheels to ensure you don't get crazy one wheel slip. If you're still worried, you can always get winter tires as well.
Bottom line, don't get too hung...
I actually really hate to use the little shift buttons haha and with 10 gears to go through, I feel like it's cumbersome. But that's just me, I'm glad you've found good use for it!
The Rangers do not have auto 4WD. On the F150s, if you get a Lariat trim or higher, there is a 4A setting in between 2H and 4H. 4A will send power to the front if it notices rear slip but will otherwise keep it RWD. It's useful when you're driving on pavement that has patches of snow.
The...
Completely agree with you there on the rear seat design. The humps underneath the cushion make it really difficult to place anything large/bulky. The fact that the cushion doesn't fold vertically either, also impeding space.
I've also learned to hate the fact that there isn't a 60/40 split the...
I completely agree with you! It's a tad soft up front for my taste as well, but I don't think it's necessarily a "bad" thing. I just don't understand why Hairball is comparing this truck's ride to an Escape.
What were you expecting when you compared the driving experience of an Escape to a truck? It doesn't make much sense to compare a body on frame truck to a Focus based unibody crossover. What are your expectations?
The biggest difference is that the Colorado V6 doesn't have turbos stuck to it. With a turbo stuck to each side of the bank, Ecoboost engines take up quite a bit more space.
Also, I doubt that the engineers wouldn't be able to get a EB V6 to fit in the Ranger. It's most likely the case that...
He's just going to come back with some other ridiculous claims to confuse and piss you off, man. Don't feed him, we should all just ignore the guy. He's just here to pick fights and derails everyone.
I'll try out Youtube! Starting a Youtube channel just sounds like....work haha. I'll definitely look into it to make viewing more user friendly, thanks for the tip!
